This is a little mom and pop home style road side dive just east of Whitney on highway 933. We drive past it on our way to College Station and decided to stop. The place is a hit and worth the trip. There is a picnic table outside that you can eat on as well as indoor dining.

My wife and I really enjoy eating here. We’re relatively new to the area but quickly found this great family run Mexican food restaurant. The service here from the entire staff is awesome!! The food is great, served fast and very fresh. My last visit they were pretty busy and we were ordering to go and the owner sat us down with chips and hot sauce as well as drinks while we decided what to order. Even offered to refill our drinks when we left. That’s service in my book. I tell everyone I know about this place and everyone should come and try it out, you won’t be disappointed I promise!!

This is The Best Tex-Mex in Hill County. It’s about two miles outside Whitney on 933, a small steel building with a dirt parking lot and some signage letting you know you’ve found the right place. If you’re heading OUT of Whitney, it’s on your RIGHT. If you’re heading TO Whitney on 933, it’ll be on the LEFT, of course.

What an amazing experience! We weren’t sure at first driving up, and were SO pleased with the food and service! Couldn’t even snag a picture of the sopapillas our amazing waitress Tish convinced us to get because we ate them so fast. We are DEFINITELY coming again next time we’re in TX!

We looked for three years before we found this gem. The food is authentic Mexican, not smothered in cheese wiz. The food is absolutely delicious. It’s so good, that we were out doing errands in Waco and we figured we should eat. Since we always have trouble choosing from so many options, I asked her what she would want if it was the last meal she could have. With no thought, she responded, “Los Verdes!”, and I have to agree. That says it all.

We tried los verdes for the first time today and what a choice that was!!! I was skeptical as I always am when it comes to good Mexican food….but I was cleared up! This place is amazing!!! The waiter & waitress we had rocked!!! They are clean, fast and very friendly! If you haven’t tried it, you should!!!!
