It’s a beautiful setting. It had been recommended by two friends to request the house for dining as it is cozier and beautiful- we had a reservation but waited for 30 min for our table. We were so excited to try this new restaurant we figured worth the wait ! The manager was incredibly nice about our wait.. However when we were finally sat – i was very disappointed in the room in the house we were sat- it literally k looked like the overflow back room – not decorated nearly as nice or pretty , it was also very cold and drafty – no warmth , cluttered old stuffed dirty toys on stairs -no Christmas music was on- fireplace wasn’t lit because they said it will make it too hot. i did ask about the location they sat us in and then ended up feeling like l was being difficult .

We were married here 20 years ago, then celebrated our 20th anniversary here recently. Had not visited at all in those 20 years, but the charm & hospitality remained! Beautiful historic building. We sat in the sunroom, which is where our wedding reception was. Service was great, food was amazing. Definitely worth the trip up South Mountain!

Still a nice place to dine, but suffers from a lack of staff and difficulty in getting some food stuff. Reservations are a must, they were turning away walk-ins as they only had 2 servers. Service was excellent, food was good, but I missed the Beef Wellington that I had enjoyed before the pandemic.

We went for my birthday. The food was exceptional. The cream of crab was out of this world. Prime Rib was exquisite. Can’t say enough good things. Service was outstanding. We will definitely be returning. A hidden gem

Went for Thanksgiving dinner and everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, everyone including the owners were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome, even though it was very busy and they were working hard to keep up. The turkey dinners, especially the sweet potatoes, were delicious. The seasonal fresh cranberry martini was also tasty. It was our first time there and we hope to be back soon. Thank you to the staff and owners for making our holiday dinner so very nice.

Have been multiple times for anniversaries and holidays. The main dining room with its huge window overlooking South Mountain when the snow is falling is magical. Although the smaller front room with more intimate tables and roaring fireplace going sets a fantastic mood as well. The food was equally spectacular when dining with my wife or with the kids in tow. Will definitely be coming back again in the near future.

This is one the best restaurants in the area. Every single time my wife and I have been there, the service (especially Karen!) was amazing, the food was always cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere, cozy and inviting.

We love coming to the Old South Mountain Inn. However, the upkeep on the place has gone downhill quite a bit in recent years. We recently dined there and were shocked by the very musty smell as soon as you enter the restaurant. We were seated in the sun room and the musty smell was even more prevalent. This truly impacted our evening in a very negative way. The restroom floors and baseboards were noticeably dirty. As always, the food and service was excellent. I hope the owners put some time, money, and effort into the upkeep of this wonderful restaurant steeped in great tradition. “Old” should not imply neglect and lack of attention to the beautiful dining environment.
