When we opened in 2020, we were taking over a closed pizza delivery and takeout shop called Louie’s Pizza Co. We added to the original Louie’s menu with items from the former Georgio’s Italian Restaurant, as well as some of the very best recipes we’ve come across over the years. The result is Salvage Yard Bar and Grill, a modern Italian restaurant great for dates, special occasions, or just because!

Good food, had the meatball sub and side salad. My dinner companion had the Juice Lucy burger. Both were cooked to perfect. The waitress was perfect, coming over just enough to check on us without feeling like she was overbearing or neglecting us. Overall, it was good food, a fun atmosphere, and perfect service.

I went here for the first time for my birthday dinner because I had heard such great things about their unique BOB pizza, which stands for “best of both” as it is a mash up of their two pizza styles, Chicago-style deep dish and St. Louis style. I also got a traditional Chicago style to compare. My wife and I both preferred the BOB.

The highlight here is the pizza. We got a Best of Both pizza, which is a Chicago style crust with provel cheese and STL style sauce (sweet no chunks). Incredible. We also had a stromboli, and this is very flavorful and the dough is tremendous.

This was my first visit to Salvage Yard for carry out. Ordering was easy through Toast. Searching the menu on the website was clear and easy to navigate. The pickup process was pleasant and quick. Ordering on Toast and adding a tip at your discretion makes the pickup process a non eventI. I ordered a mushroom and swiss burger with chips. The burger was ground chuck but not very greasy as some burgers can be. The temperature of the burger was still hot and cooked to a medium to medium well tempeture. The side I chose was homemade chips instead of fries. The number of chips was fantastic and definitely enough to share. They, too, were still hot and not soggy at pickup. The server at the counter was courteous and respectful. I would order again for sure. The only thing I found odd was when ordering on Toast was that when ordering my Mushroom Swiss burger, you still had to add the cheese seperately even though it was a Mushroom Swiss burger. It’s not a big deal, just mentioning it here. All food wax ready in 20 minutes Enjoy your visit. I did. I ordered a half house salad with house dressing. for lunch. Dressing fresh and homemade. Salad was delicious, and lettuce was still crisp the next day.

They get 5 stars on food the BOB best of both worlds meat lovers was fantastic. The service was a tad slow considering there were only 2 tables including us. But the food was fast and they were friendly so we’ll go back!

If i could give more than 5 stars for service, I would. Our server Davionne absolutely rocked. Best service we have had in a long time. The whole wait staff seemed amazing. Worked well as a team, and i would highly recommend going for dinner. Deep dish was good, and being from Chicago, it was very close to tasting like home. The only recommendation i could give is to add a bit more butter to the crust and roll a tad thinner, and they would nail it! Thank you for giving a transplant a taste of home!
