Overpriced and not that good. The collard greens are sweet… So disappointing. The cornbread had sugar sprinkled on top. My husband said it tasted like cake. I don’t like cake. The fried chicken was good. The pork chop was good for being breaded (not a fan of breaded, but they did it right). The peach cobbler was quite tasty and I’m not a dessert person. The ribs were alright. They were smothered in sauce. Overall, 3 stars as I would not come back. It cost way too much money.

I loooovvvee Ms. Ruby’s restaurant!!! While some may complain about the prices (understandable due to inflation and the current times), the wait is always short, and their efficient ordering process keeps things running smoothly.

I hate to write reviews like this but it is simply average. For 2 people our food came to 80$ with dessert. Also be careful the floor is very slippery. They don’t have water. I agree it is very overpriced. I had the oxtail and they were not tender at all. No real flavor. The greens are sweet and salty. Too much. Mac n cheese is sharp. Fried corn was good, green beans average. Peach cobbler good and sweet. They sell juice but only by the half gallon. Took about 10 minutes to get food that was prepared from the buffet line despite them being fully staffed. I had heard them several times and was glad to finally visit but it was underwhelming. Really wanted to Luke this place.

Food is overpriced and doesn’t taste good. I paid 18 bucks for this & the mashed potatoes have no salt what so ever or any gravy… collard greens have no seasoning as you can see in the picture. Felt like they just poured it out the can or something… fried chicken was decent…. No season. This was my first time and it will be last. Beyond disappointed. Their peach cobbler is 9 bucks for a small. What they serve you can make at home for less. Trust me

My husband went to the Symrna location on Sat, 8/26/23 to purchase a half pan of cobbler, which is $67 after tax. After waiting for over 10min after he already ordered and paid, they came back and told them they had a pan ready but that it was “overcarmelized”. In other words, they wanted to know if he was okay buying a burned pan of cobbler. He said no and that he’d wait the 20min they quoted him for a fresh pan. After more than 45min, they finally came out with the cobbler pan packaged inside of an extremely oversized box. When he got home, I saw the “cobbler soup” they had given him. They should be ashamed and embarrassed for letting him leave the store with this peach soup. That’s probably why they stuffed it into another box, to try and hide their failure as if we wouldn’t notice once he got home. He called up to the store and they offered him a refund, but he had to come bring the cobbler soup back up there. Once he got there, they apologized but can you believe they didn’t even offer him one or two individual cobbler servings for free for the inconvenience and nearly two hours of the day he wasted on this disaster of a cobbler? What a disappointment!

Really wanted to love it, but it was just ok. Mac and cheese was dry and bland. Sweet potatoes tasted straight from a can. Collards were good. Cornbread was fantastic, as a dessert, since they sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top. More cake than cornbread. Wouldn’t be opposed to giving them another shot but wouldn’t go out of my way either.

I recently visited the Buckhead location and the food was terrible! I couldn’t even finish it so someone suggested I try the Smyrna location so I went on Easter. The service was horrible! I ordered to go. I looked at the food that was on the line and asked if those were oxtails because they looked meaty and the woman who takes your order said no it’s rip tips. Then the line cooked pored gravy on them so I asked if she was sure. She didn’t ask the cook and he said yes they were oxtails. So I said I would have those with light gravy. She asked for my two size I told her rice and black beans. She did not mention that it already came with rice so when I got home, I realize there was another bit of rice underneath oxtails so I couldn’t really ordered a third side instead of having double rice! It’s saturated with heavy gravy. I also ordered a sweet potato pies. She told me they were out, but while I was waiting for my food, I saw one in the case and asked another employee to add it to the bill. They forgot to put it in the bag but luckily, I checked my food before I left. The food is just simply not good. The rice is overcook the Black Eyed Peas are bland and I haven’t tried the sweet potato pie yet. Definitely not going back

Largest portions than any other restaurant. Food was amazing. I had turkey wings, greens and Mac and cheese. All were very good. My daughter had fried fish, candied yams, we sampled each other dish. Best soul food restaurant hands down. Smyrna location can’t speak for any other.
