Our family has been regulars of Happy Garden since moving to Burien two years ago. We’ve never been disappointed. This time was no different. Every bit of food pictured was from the takeout order. We ordered Combo B for two. There was enough food that with some white rice I made at home, we just got dinner for a second night!

I was thoroughly unimpressed. I really wanted to like this place as it’s close to my home, but the chow mein was watery with little bits of rubberized chicken…. the crab and cream cheese was the worst I have experienced, and I’ve had that dish in several countries as well as different states… I can’t ever order from here again due to the thought of vomiting. Thinking of that chow mein has actually made me gag while writing this.

The food was mid at best. Not good and not bad. I think Panda Express would have been better (and cheaper). I asked for a little spicy but i didn’t feel it was spicy at all. They are too short staffed to have indoor seating, so it’s takeout only. That said, it was so dark and dingy inside (at mid day!) that I thought it was closed and they forgot to turn-out the neon “open” sign. I’d been craving Chinese takeout for ablut a week, so to still think the food wasn’t tasty is telling.

Kinda sad yesterday, because I switched it up and ordered the roast pork egg foo young. The egg foo young part was pretty tasty, but the gravy was too watered down and just no. I didn’t like that they had the “gravy” already on it instead of on the side. I wish I had known or else I wouldn’t have gotten it or just asked for the “gravy” on the side, which once again was a no. The fried rice never disappoints, however do a little better with your veggie options because frozen peas and carrots are not it!

This place is the real deal. I grew up with East Coast Chinese food and this place delivers if not exceeds. Their Orange Beef is out of this world.

Really disappointed with my food. I spent $46 on chicken, broccoli and wontons. The broccoli was undercooked and dumped in the box with the water it was cooked in, which the leaked all over the bag and my car. The wontons were stale and cold.

I have been coming here for at least 10 years. It’s my go to place for good fresh Chinese. Just like any restaurant they are not always perfect but my experience has been mostly good way more than bad. Our favorites fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, egg foo young, Mongolia beef, Singapore style noodles, wonton soup. We have tried other dishes which were also great. Please don’t ever go away or train someone to take over with the same flavors.
