I finally try the food every Texan recommends, which is Texas BBQ. I totally agree with these people. It tastes so great! The bean is pretty special to me, and the meat with the sauce which light up the whole dishes is (OMG) perfect.

We stopped at Hipshots on our way through town and were pleasantly surprised. From the moment we walked in the door we had the best experience. The staff was super friendly, kind and efficient. The food was amazing! We had a variety of items off the menu; pulled pork, brisket meal, loaded nachos and a pulled pork sandwich along with some of the best sweet teas. We also tried a few different BBQ sauces that were equally delicious. So many choices to choose from. This place did not disappoint! I’m hoping we pass this way again soon because I know where we will be stopping for lunch.

We showed up at 11:30 Saturday morning, they were PACKED… Quick service, easy to order, lots of space, and the Strawberry Lemonade is perfect.

Heard about this place from some other tradesmen on a job and decided to try it out. I ordered the Boomtown Burrito and it was more than filling. It’s loaded with meats, beans, potatoes, and fritos and smothered in cheese. Definitely worth the $15 for it. The “Actually Hot” BBQ sauce was perfectly tangy and spicy, and really compliments the meat. The tea was good, but in my opinion could be sweeter. There are plenty of options for flavored teas, both sweet and unsweetened. Will be back again as soon as I can.

Wide selection of great tasting teas, didn’t try the food. We popped in during the middle of the week and the place looked closed…so glad we pulled up to make sure they were open. We’ll definitely be back!

2nd time in 3 days that I went and had a hell of good meal! Was gonna try the frito pie, but ended up with the Boomtown Burrito and now I have dinner too. That Mac n Cheese is awesome. Get a ½ sweet coconut, ½ regular coconut Tea and you’ll thank me later. Definitely coming back…once I wake up from my food coma.

I’ve eaten a lot of BBQ in a lot of different places, and the ribs and Actually Hot sauce at Hipshots will run with the best of any of them. Ate here probably once a week for 6 months while working in town, and I’m still blown away by them. Honorable mention to the Johnny Ringo (pictured), Boomtown Burrito (pictured), chicken quarters, and sausage. The ribs are not pictured because I always ate them before thinking about a picture.
