We tried Tacos Rojas at its new location on route 11 near Hollins college. We have been there twice now and enjoyed their burrita and their Tacos Al Pastor. The tacos Al Pastor are absolutely my favorite. We have Member of our party had the steak fajitas and said they were very good. This restaurant will become a frequent stop for me. I love that they offer specials each day of the week.

The food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Staff was nice but checked on us too infrequently. I also think the price is a little to high, but not terrible.

The food and service were good. Little pricey for Mexican food. For 2 people to eat, it came to $65.00 for lunch. All the Mexican restaurants I have eaten at they do not charge for chips and salsa except for Tacos Rojas does! I will not be returning if they can’t give you the chips and salsa.

The food was good and the service was friendly. The serving sizes are HUGE, so you get a lot for the price. If you’re going to eat here be prepared for a lot of food for a more expensive cost. 2 burritos of carne asada was $38 plus tax and tip for a total of $46. At this point it’s an okay value for the quality and serving amount.

My family and I moved to Roanoke from Austin, Texas a year ago, and have tried every Mexican place in town. Needless to say, we stopped eating out at Mexican restaurants because the quality was so bad everywhere we went. When we gave Tacos Rojas a shot it was based on word of mouth, but we were blown away and will be back, regularly. The choriqueso was on point, the tacos al pastor were fantastic, and I haven’t had a michelada that delicious outside of the ones I make at home. Ask for the spicy salsa, it’s good stuff!

Food was good and staff friendly. We came for Margaritas but at $16.99 are you freaking kidding me? NOPE. El Rodeos on Williamson Road for $6.99. Oh, they charge 2.99 for chips and salsa. We didn’t know.

As many reviews say, poor service. (That seems consistent) The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. My issue is completely on service. The waiter took our order brought our drinks (chips and salsa you do pay for but knew this from other reviews so no surprise), someone from kitchen brought our food, we needed refills when our food came out but no one ever returned until they seen us just getting up to go pay. Will not return, first and last visit.

The food is so authentic. The the enchilada sauce is homemade. Margaritas are bold. Clean and large dining area.

It was a wonderful, delicious experience that I happen to come across. The owner was so nice and accommodating!! I was in the area for a Dr appointment and just happened in. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone. The food was Great and authentic! It is a family run business with three other restaurants. Simply cannot say enough good about this place! You won’t be disappointed!!!
