Delicious food in a very inviting atmosphere.

I have been to Dilla at least 5 times the last two years. I often get the Goden Tibet’s and a veggie platter and never had a problem until my last takeaway. The Goden tibs I received was nothing but huge blobs of fat with few pieces of meat attached at the corners. I had to completely throw them away.

The food was very good. This was the first time I’ve tried Ethiopian food and I liked it. I got the #9, #19, #33, and #36. All the entrees I ordered came with this nice spongy bread which was very good. The server was nice but not very good at communicating. We had an attendee with a nut allergy and she seemed very confused when we asked her if anything had nuts, and she said no, but some dishes were suspicious and tasted like nuts. Also beware they charge extra for water. Overall, though, the food was very delicious and I would try it again in the future.

My daughter and I had stopped there to try something new. The atmosphere, service, and food left me wanting more. I will definitely be back with my husband.

I have too many complaints to list about this place. I ordered ahead and they didn’t start preparing the food until I asked for my order at the counter. I ended up waiting there for an additional 45 minutes for them to make the food. None of the staff will talk to you or look at you. They all just stand around behind the counter avoiding eye contact while not actually doing any work. I ordered the gluten free ingera (celiac) and they gave me the kind with gluten. When I asked to make sure they gave me the gluten free kind, they made me pay for extra ingera even though it was their mistake. The prices online and on their menu are not correct or consistent. The descriptions of the food online and in the menu are not correct or consistent. The food is just wet salty slop. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances.

I love the food and the service here. I often come on my lunch break on nights I have dance classes because I know the food will be filling, but with a very healthy variety of vegetables and legumes. I most recently ordered the vegetable platter for $25-30 and it was huge! The waitress did warn me, but I was open to the leftovers. Next time though, I will invite a friend from work to share with me! It is usually quiet at lunch time, but it makes the experience more romantic and everyone is exceedingly kind here including the wait staff and regular customers. The atmosphere is made even better by the beautiful space and decor– large mirrors and windows which make for a really pleasant and bright space with cozy seating.

Ordered the kitfo and our waitress balked. “You know it’s raw beef?” Yes, that’s why we’re ordering it, we like it. She brings it out and the kitfo is cooked, practically well-done. “Excuse me, I thought this was supposed to be raw?” “Oh it is”. Uhhh this ain’t really a difference of opinion, it’s grey and warm, it’s obviously cooked!! Been to this place several times over the years and it’s been solid in the past but I’m probably not going back to a place that makes well-done kitfo. Horrid.

The veggie combo platter is delicious, but I have stopped going to Dilla’s because they consistently overcharge me.

Wouldn’t recommend coming to this establishment. They overcharged us for items that such as salad, even though the original salad we received was only onions and tomatoes. Samosas were actually rotten and tasted really bad. They then gave us all water bottles and the white guests glasses of water and then overcharged us for water as well after telling us it was free. The food was mediocre and after giving us very small portions of things from the veggie platter they offered more and then overcharged us for that without letting us know of the price. I wish I took a picture but I wouldn’t waste my time or money with this place. Good luck!

I never know what to make of the service at international food restaurants, so they lose a star for that because communication is often rough and the desire for them to actually serve/help is not typically there, plus they usually forget about you and you either have to chase them down or wait a long time to get your bill when it’s clear you’ve been done for a while.
