Everything we had was amazing. My favorite were the tacos and I plan to go back and make our way through the menu. This family first restaurant- Casa Ortega has some of the best Mexican food and this new place continues their flare on Mexican food. Their food is some of the best around, do yourself a favor and definitely try their street corn, it will be a must have every time you visit. The sopes were delicious, even without a protein this time. We wanted to try a lot of the menu, so we didn’t get protein on everything. If you want to try something new, try their grilled cactus as a protein, very unique flavors and very good. The service is top notch, always friendly and helpful – even when they are very busy. The interior artwork is fantastic and has such a home-like feel to it. You can feel the family atmosphere that went into this place. Their salsa bar is the smartest additional, because you can never have enough of the red sauce or the habanero sauce. Great place, we will be back again and again.

Noticed this place opened a few weeks ago when picking up a pizza next door. I’ve been there about 4 times since. It’s incredibly good. I’ve had a few things on the menu – burritos, tortas, tacos, quesadillas, and their nachos. EVERYTHING is top notch. Flavor, presentation, service, and portion sizes are excellent. Drinks are great, too. The Al Pastor is my favorite. It hits the spot when you’re looking for something more on the authentic side. Awesome addition to Pleasant Valley, hope they’re here to stay for a long time.

Really delish Mexican food. My friends and I all got burritos and we were all pleased with the experience. This is some seriously authentic food and I’ve spent years living in California and Mexico. Also their horchata is incredible as well.

Food here is outstanding! Haven’t had a bad meal yet and have gotten food here several times. We only have had take out because it’s not much of a sit down restaurant, but the food is still fire even being take out. I can only imagine how good it’d be in person. This place is a must try!

Tried this place for the first time and was really impressed. The tacos were larger than expected and they were filled to the brim. They tasted amazing! We also got chips and salsa and my wife said the salsa tasted just like her grandmother used to make. We will certainly be going back.

The food is tasty! Portions are about average, not too little, not going to be stuffed. Service is polite and friendly. Ambiance leaves something to be desired— only overhead lights, lots of standing tables, not many sit down tables, the bar stools next to the register are too low height making it impossible to sit at the bar. But if you want delicious food— this is a good spot. I’d definitely go back.

What a hidden gem of a restaurant. Doesn’t look like much on the outside but boy is the food outstanding. It’s so so hard to find good Mexican food in New York but this little hole in the wall is so delicious, authentic and the people working here are so kind. We had the fish tacos, Al pastor tacos, bean burrito and margaritas – all stellar. Will definitely come here often!
