This restaurant holds a very special place in my heart. Every time I go here the atmosphere and the staff are incredibly welcoming. The owners are regularly at the restaurant helping their employees and it’s very common to see them ask customers how their experience is. The food is phenomenal and I always love how fast they seem to get the food out in time. I personally recommend the Dan Dan noodles, beef tenderloin with soft tofu, and spicy fish bites. The food won my patronage, but the staff won my heart.

I ordered the tofu with mushrooms nd shredded potatoes. The potatoes were spicy and the tofu was saucy. The service was excellent with attentive care towards the food order. And the environment was lively. We will definitely return there for dinner.

Decided to take a chance on this Szechuan flavored and spicy array of entrées. I never can get one person in my household to order anything different than combination fried rice. So, on that front would give it a 3/5 the shrimp was slightly battered instead of sautéed and tossed, and nothing to write home about on the chicken and beef. The glass noodles were flavorful, bit slippery and hard to eat, but if they were homemade, well-done on the care it took. The orange chicken had too many orange peels still in the dish, but tasty, and heavy batter. Lastly the pork dumplings come steamed or pan fried, we opted for pf, and another 3/5 on taste. Spent around $55, I would rather have ordered from Lao Sze, and gotten a better meal for the price.

Authentic Sichuan cuisine that delivers flavor every time. It’s usually busy whenever we dine in here, but there’s no wait. We ordered Beijing style pork, liver and kidney, dry fried intestine. All were excellent and delicious, especially organ meat, they did a great job!! I see us coming back to this place many more!

Americanized Chinese food done right. It’s not authentic at all, but if you like Panda Express and also want to eat something that doesn’t taste like it’s already been digested by a raccoon then come here instead.

Food was really mediocre. My friend didn’t like one of the dishes so we had to switch another one, and it was one of their speciality dishes but we still didn’t like it much. Their duck was better in the past years but the peppermint lamb was decent. We didn’t get asked what we wanted to drink, just given 2 glasses of room temperature water on a hot summer day. I asked for ice and got a small cup not enough for the water I had 10min later. During the whole meal no one came to refill my water until we got the check, and I already had an empty glass. This time, I finally got some ice cold water.

I was surprised with how good the orange chicken was that I got for takeout… I was only planning on eating half and saving the rest for later but I ended up eating the whole dish! Great sauce which had a lovely depth of orange and soy with the right amount of sweetness and acidity. I asked for extra spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice – just enough to get you sweating but not too much to overpower the star flavors of the dish. I would def recommend getting the orange chicken as spicy since it adds a whole other level (but beware it’s probably a 7.5/10 spicy). The chicken is good, but not as great as the sauce. I think it could’ve been crispier, but it was still pretty good. Portions are generous and I feel like I received good value for my money. I will be returning to try other dishes whenever I get a craving for Chinese. I ordered online and my meal was ready when I got there 15 minutes later. Make sure you eat it quickly after it’s prepared since that’s when it’s best. Friendly staff.

Food Presentation was awesome and looked delicious, food tasted great! Friendly staff but they never came back to check on me. Not once in fact they brought the food and didn’t even ask if anything else was needed, just walked away. I mean I didn’t get hot sauce or soy sauce. I had to stop the lady who brought my food before walking away if I can have sauce. My glass had lip stick on it and it was was actually disappointing BUT food was great, being attentive is a must especially when sitting down, had they just checked in and ask me that would have been the five star. Oh and I guess no fountain drinks only can soda

Little hidden gem right outside the Texas Medical Center on Holcombe Blvd. It’s an authentic Chinese restaurant that’s not too “Americanized”, although many will recognize much of the menu items. I love dan dan noodles, and it caught my eye that it was on the menu, so I had to order it. We also ordered the flounder with soft tofu, Singaporean noodles, and the Haka stir fry special.

Hu’s cooking is my favorite Chinese restaurant near Rice Village! It’s a bit pricey, but that’s the location. The garlic snow leafs are super tasty. They have a lot authentic and delicious dishes from Dan Dan noodles to mapotofu, to duck…I really liked the sesame balls when they had them. I think the only dish I wasn’t too fond of is the sliced beef dish that I have posted here. It has too many sour veggies in it that it’s over powering, especially when you bite into any of those sour veggies. Do order the Cauliflower dry pot. It’s delicious! It has some strips of meat on it that is slightly sweet, but not sweet enough to turn me off. I typically don’t like sweet dinner food. The seafood hotpot was also delicious!!
