The thought of Mr. Pizza began way back in 1963 when Mark Fulton’s dad was in the kitchen putting together a pizza from a box of Chef Boyardee. While perfecting this at home, the thought came, “We could make this a business…” The Mr. Pizza restaurant opened in 1963, and was operated in the small shopping center. Mr. Pizza continued as a family run business all the way though 2019. Mark was busy as an up-and-coming pizza restaurant owner, and that’s when Jane came into the picture. She was a waitress at the South Store, and it wasn’t long before the two linked up and started dating. Championship Dining, the Schoville/Zubay run restaurant group, decided to preserve the small, family-run pizza tradition and took over as the new owners.

Recently went since they remodeled. Love the new look. The spinach artichoke dip was a much smaller portion than before and unfortunately, was just filled with huge chunks of hard artichoke, so there was hardly any dip. The pizza, however, was absolutely delicious! Probably won’t ever get the appetizer again, but we will definitely go back for the pizza.

Had original thin crust pizza, and it was excellent. House salad was 5 stars! Can’t give five stars because I’ve had some that was better. Great choice in beers and it was served in cold glass so entire beer was cold. Nice atmosphere and waiter was good. Definitely would go there again.

This was the biggest disappointment of my life! My family has been wanting to try this place every time we go to Rochester so we finally decided to stop and bring some home. My girls are vegan so of course there is a upcharge. 25 for a small vegan cheese pizza. We splurged and I bought 2 normal pizzas for my sons. One was cheese the other was cheeseburger My oldest daughter also bought 2 one was cheese and the other pepperoni. All frozen except the vegan was take and bake. Got home and couldn’t wait to try! It was nasty to say the least. Not one of my family members liked any of it. The cheese and crust were less than par. And to think this was easily 85 bucks worth of pizza. We could of got the same thing but better tasting from Tonys in the frozen section of the grocery store. Needless to say I dont think any of the fam will ask to g back again. Not worth it and severely overpriced!

For takeout, we really enjoy the Big Peppi with New York style crust. They have good lunch specials for one or two slices of pizza and a drink. They have also made recent changes to the layout and decor that provide a welcome atmosphere.
