Growing up in Jalisco, Ruben Leon and Josue Flores and his brother in law, loved their grandfather’s traditional cooking, when they inmigrated to the United States about 25 years ago, they all worked in mexican restaurant in Virginia and North Carolina, and longed for the cuisine of their childhood, so they decided to open a restaurant together.

The food was ok. The waiter could have been a little nicer. Waited a long time before he came back to the table. Rice could have been a little better, very mushy. Beans was a little off. But everything else was fine. Like the spot.

My food was so fresh and tasty!! They even allowed me to request extra seasoning on my steak!! My adult beverage was on point too!! This will be my go to restaurant for Mexican when in the Zebulon, Wendell and Knightdale area for sure!! I have tried others and they do not compare!!

We’ve eaten at San Jose at least 10 times and continue to return for their yummy food. We’ve experimented with many items on the menu and only found one thing we didn’t like, flako salad. Everything else is just delicious. Their carne asada is really good and my daughter loves their grilled chicken. I always order items with substitutions or omitting specific ingredients to my taste and they do not disappoint. My daughter usually gets something from the bar and likes it.

The beef in the enchilada was undercooked. When we showed them they took off 20% but we spoke to the manager to ask for it to be completely taken off the bill, and he accepted. He said something about the undercooked meat being because of a “new supplier.” Manager honestly didn’t seem that bothered about it.

I actually enjoy the food from San Jose. My problem was and is that the price that’s giving on the online Menu is the price I based my order off of. When called in order the man did not tell total price before hanging up. Just gave order number. My son picked up order and that’s when the price difference came up. So I called spoke to waitress and then manager. He said they just changed prices a week and a half ago, but online it’s yet to be updated. I told him that’s false price advertisement and not just that. They did not include the chips that go with salsa. He got upset because I refuse to accept his “explanation” and told me he is not arguing over 3 dollars with sarcasm, and that we as customers should not rely on the menu online since they are “old”. Worst manager and I am glad to take my money elsewhere.

Came in with family to have a good relaxing time and have some good Mexican food here, at first we felt it was not so good, but after we got accommodated in a good sit, we ordered and had a bad experience with food so immediately the waitress corrected the problem, the hibiscus(jamaica) drink was so delicious at the end we enjoyed it and definitely will be considering coming back, they have an exceptional customer service and thrive for top customer service. Really recomendable if you like drinking alcohol, they have a bar and offer a good verity of drinks.

This Mexican restaurant is the best quality and service, I’ve gone for years several times a week. From the owner to wait staff and the kitchen the employees stay for years many over least 15 years, I tip them well for they are my second kitchen, give them a try and ask for the guacamole, they’ll add anything you want in it extra lime, salt onion and a touch of diced jalapenos I suggest, you won’t regret it.

Our family of 4 went to San José as we have done many times. Ordered our food, the kids (7&9yo) ordered for themselves per usual.. both asking for a “ACP”. The food comes – we don’t see the waiter again until he’s dropping off the check. Our bill was $89 and that’s with two children. I take a harder look, and we had been charged for two adult ACPs. So I let the waiter know of the mistake and his response was “oh I didn’t know they wanted kids meals”. He took $12 off to equal out to the price of what the kids meals would have been. When he brought it back I took another look to realize none of the prices on our ticket were as they are advertised in the menu. In total our bill was $10 more than it’s advertised on the menu – not including the error with the kids meals nor the $2.71 convenience fee.

We stopped here for lunch today and shared the fajitas. The meat was tender and juicy with a good flavor profile. I added avacado to my salad and it was nice and ripe. The staff was friendly.

Our waiter was not attentive at all. He took our order, brought the food and didn’t come back to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything until he brought the check. The hostess at the door was on her phone and didn’t pay attention to anyone. We’ve been going here for years but this text was awful! When we left, both of us said we would not be back. We will go across town to Margarita House!
