I visited the original David Fong’s a long time ago with my dad when we were in the cities for new years. We both remembered the restaurant for some of the best Chinese food we have had. Unfortunately the original restaurant closed, but the food still lives up to the memory here.

Wonderful Chicken Almond Ding, so good I haven’t tried anything else. : ) My friend has tried many of the main dishes and has enjoyed them all. We always split an order of the delicious sweet and sour soup. Service is very fast, friendly, and caring. Atmosphere is the usual for Chinese Cuisine, take out entry with fish tank and then to the left there is the dining room. You rarely have to wait. Strongly recommend.

The Beef Chow Mein was bland, and had no flavor. The beef was overly soggy and tasted old. Additionally, the soy sauce was watered down to the point where it could be drank as a beverage. There are so many other affordable and tastier options if you want asian food.

Nothing fancy. Fast and awesome service – big kudos to our server, and we were greeted and seated quickly. The food is reasonably priced. Wished the Chicken Chow Mein was more like the one served at the original David Fongs. The Sesame Chicken was not that great. Not enough “crunch” on the chicken and the sauce didn’t really absorb or stand out. I like the version at Fong’s in Prior Lake better. Had white and fried rice…both are ok.

One of the best in town, I have never had an issue with the food, the service or take out. Gotta try them out if you haven’t!

It’s great that there’s still a David Fongs in MN, hands down one of, if not the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to, my dad (Big Al) is even friends with the owner David Fong Jr., I highly recommend going here if you want amazing food.

I went through this last year when you had a new chef. I am assuming this might be the same chef. I ordered food this afternoon and the food was not up to par! The chicken in the chowmein was very dry, the chowmein itself was good but bland, pork fried was burned could not eat it. The egg fooyung was bland but edible. I live too far to return it. So disappointed because I got the same order about a month ago and it was very good.

We used to go to the David Fong’s on Lyndale Ave S in Bloomington but they closed when the owner retired, we tried D. Fong’s in Savage hopping it was as great as the old Fong’s and it was and had lower prices, can’t believe that, great!

Decent food. Nothing like Bloomington. Portion size is a lot smaller. The 3% fee to use a card is a joke.

Since the David Fong’s closed in Bloomington, I was sadly missing their delicious food. Finding another location in Burnsville was like finding a gold mine!
