I was pretty wowed by this place. Michael, our server was adorable and very proficient. I ordered the Eggs Benedict… 1/2 standard….and 1/2 California style… with hashbrowns and fresh fruit. My friend ordered an omelet and a biscuit with gravy… . My other GF orded a waffle which had a cute little bear in the middle. The restaurant had such a nice woodsy decor with lovey pictures of bears and woody scenes. There is a cute little shop area with all kinds of Black Bear items.. there were the most adorable bear boots… . *Just cause I was a restaurant GM in another life I have to say the couple things that could have been better were, the trash right by the front door needed attention and the restroom had trash on the floor. None of this was warranted taking anything from the overall 5 star wonderful experience we had.

(03/03/23, I recently had their pancakes and they are the best I’ve ever had, huge too.)Had the biscuits and gravy for under 6 dollars, quick to go service under 3 min. By far the closest to Grandy’s, but you might ask for extra gravy. Still way better than metro diner across the turnpike, as these biscuits were twice their size. Therefore they are the winner in today’s biscuits and gravy battle. (I haven’t actually eaten here, but I’ve delivered to customers and the breakfast always smells just amazing, the inside and outside of the store is really beautiful. Nice cozy feeling inside.)

We love the food Black Bear Diner offers. At this location, the consistency of the food can very in temperature and taste. It is not unusual when we go that we have to wait awhile for someone to seat us even when they are not busy at all. Nothing so bad that would make us stop going at this point.

Just your classic diner! Food was pretty decent, I went for breakfast and got a basic breakfast plate. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. The plates could go without the garnish, though. It’s a little much. I’d rather come here than somewhere like IHOP. Service was a little slow but they were nice.

Food took a very long time to arrive for our table. I observed that most other guests were served much more promptly than we we’re. Bathrooms were less to be desired for and were rather dirty. I feel for the price and the service, other establishments would be better considered.

I ordered in tonight with delivery. Food was still warm but I’m totally disappointed with the chicken fried steak sandwich. I have read many of the reviews and people say it’s hand breaded but this one tastes just like a frozen pre-breaded. Probably 1 of the worst I’ve ever had. After spending almost $35 for one person, i couldnt even eat half of the sandwich or the onion rings. The onion rings were just ok. I think my iced tea costed $3.59 & it MIGHT BE 12 OUNCES. I WILL SAY THE CHOCOLATE CAKE IS AMAZING!!!

I like Black Bear Diner. However, it has been lacking something since it first opened a few years ago. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s just not the same.

This diner seems to be vastly under rated! We went on a Sunday evening and it was near empty. I don’t understand why because the food and service was AMAZING! Highly recommended!

Great stop if you’re passing through. Best pancakes I’ve ever had, hands down. The service was awesome. Family friendly atmosphere. There is also a gift shop inside. The restaurant is very well branded with lots of fun things to look at while dining. The menu is very well priced as well.
