Nothing to write home about. Decent and convenient spot to get a bite to eat of some pretty typical chinese food. They do have a ton of options in terms of chinese food which makes them a little more unique. Solid spot to get food. Came out quick. Service was solid. And they are more spread out for COVID which is nice.

I don’t know why but I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. The low ceiling and the old style building made me feel like I was back in Japan. Great service that was quick and the food was good! I got the beef noodles and it was quite good came out hot with beef chunks lots of noodles, napa cabbage and carrot slices. The broth had good flavor and was delicious. The prices were reasonable as well. Not super cheap but not too expensive either?

Joy’s has been a staple all through college and still remains a staple for me. Amazing food with good portions and price. All the bad reviews are for their fried rice: DO NOT GET THEIR FRIED RICE.

Some of the best random hole in the wall Chinese places I’ve ever had. They make it super easy to have a family style meal with friends, especially if you want to try to make a dent into their extensive menu! As someone who occasionally opts out of eating meat, their meatless options are still decent. The fried rice is the best economical choice, but their other dishes are reasonably portioned. Forget walking over to Panda Express next door. Grab take out from Joy’s ever time.

Joy’s Village is in a great location close to campus, has great food, and the staff are very nice! Joy’s is generally pretty well lit at night but it can kid of be a bit of a hassle to find. The accessibility to the building is not the greatest, as you need to go down stairs in order to get into the building, thus not accessible for wheelchairs and the stairs are coming apart a bit can can be a tripping hazard. Regarding the inside of the building, it can be a little hard to find, which could be complicated from an accessibility standpoint since there are no major signs indicating where the restaurant is. The doors are not automatic which could be an issue for some regarding to weight of the doors. Since there is also some construction material inside, this could pose to be a hazard as well. The environment of the restaurant is not too loud or bright but it can sometimes be a little cramped and not provide enough room to pass between tables.

Compared to other places, the food isn’t that good for the price. The waitress is off putting and service poor. I ordered Cummins lamb and they didn’t even take the time to cut the lamb properly. It was giant blob of meat connected by fat, it was disgusting and greasy as hell. I rarely don’t tip ever but this was really sub par. If you’re looking for quality fast Asian food that’s worth the price, I’d reccomend Helen’s by 161 and 71. I met her, she’s a delight and so is her cooking.

Very good authentic food, if you’re used to more American style Chinese takeout you might be a bit surprised when you get your food, for example the duck has bones in it still. I have no problems with it but I figured I’d warn anyone reading this. Only reason I took one star off is because it seemed to take a while to get my order, though it very well could be because it was being cooked fresh and as such is obviously not a quick process

First time going there and the food was delicious! They have a really big menu, so I’m looking forward to going back again soon. I got Mongolian beef and it was excellent with very tender beef mixed with a delicious brown gravy and stir fried green and white onions……This is personally my favorite way to have this dish prepared and you don’t see it like this in a lot of Chinese restaurants. There’s definitely a reason that this restaurant has been in business for over 40 years!

Today was my second time ordering food from here, my first was yesterday! Needless to say, their food is really delicious. I got 4 different noodle soups and each had unique flavors, my personal favorite was the shredded pork with pickled “cabbage”, which was actually mustard greens! Reminded me of food my grandmother makes, pickled greens really made the soup! I also liked the combination soup, especially when you can make up your mind on a protein. Beef stew was also great. All meals were generous and well balanced, I will be returning with friends!

I lived on campus for years and never ate here until I moved north, near Morse (still within delivery range, thankfully). The food is delicious! I’m a big fan of the taro root, and the taro pancakes were perfect! I will definitely be ordering from here again. 🙂
