This is my favorite place to get subs. Maybe not everyone’s, as their subs are very different than the standard fare you find at Subway, but I think they are great. The “Club on a Sub” is especially tasty. I enjoy the firemen-themed decor and the fact that they contribute profits to fire prevention related charities.

Last night of our 2 week vacation at Westin Mission Hills Rancho Mirage. Packing up & decided to get the Hook & Ladder 12 inch sub to share. It was so good. Plenty of very good quality Ham, Turkey, PepperCheese & rest of fixings. We chose to have it on wheat bread. Preferrred over their white. We are from Wisconsin & our town is finally going to have a Firehouse very soon. A nice change from the other chains. Looking forward to it.

You arrive at 8:30 to find two employees acting as if you are more of an inconvenience than a valued customer. After taking 10 minutes to make a single sandwich they inform you that the ” Dining Area” is closed even though the store doesn’t close till 9:00 so you can not sit down and eat your sandwich. You take all this in stride until you find an outside table in the cold and bite into the sandwich which reminds you of the old Wendy’s commercial “Where’s the Beef” and onions and everything else you would consider being part of a sandwich. Traveling between Anaheim and Phoenix without eating since this morning you look forward to a good sandwich so good thing I see the Golden Arches of McDonalds. PS, their soda machine is off and there is no taste to the root beer.

We had been so excited to finally try firehouse subs; however, we could not have had a worse experience. Based on our experience I highly doubt it would be any different at any other location. 1st of all the chicken is shown in all the pictures and descriptions as being sliced chicken. Instead the chicken is cubed; have you ever tried to eat a sandwich with cubed meat on it? See attached picture. Lastly, if the chicken actually embedded with black pepper, then one should disclose this because people are allergic to black pepper. Thank goodness I didn’t eat it. But then as the picture showed that was going to be near impossible.

I want to give it five stars because the food is good but it’s kind of hard when the employees are rude and don’t ask you if you want to donate your change and Roundup they just do it anyway without asking. Portions are small the price is high. The product is decent.
