So this Friday we wanted to try a Fish Fry from Rock and Roll Bar and Grill. Went online to try and find a menu and we were successful using Facebook. I ordered a 2 piece baked with a baked potato and a salad and the other order was a 2 piece fried wityh a baked potato and a cup of of chowder. Order was called in and I was able to be there in 10-15 on a Friday around 5pm. When I got there I could see my to-go order was waiting for me and I was greeted by hostess who repeated my order to me and I was given an online device to pay which made things go really fast. I was home in about 5 minutes. The first thing i noticed was the baked fish was in a nice small seperate container, same for the salad. The soup nicely wrapped in clear plastic wrap. Along with each meal was a slice of buttered rye bread, cole slaw, tarter sauce, a butter pad. We tried the chowder first, it looked ok however there was no taste and to our surprise nothing but vegetables, no seafood visible. Even adding salt and pepper and garlic powder there was no hope for the soup. The buttered piece of rye was nothing more then a slice from a regular loaf, sliced diagonal and folded like a butter sandwich. Not impressed. The cole slaw first of all was not chilled much, the consistency of it was all chopped not shredded and totally tastless, actually quite repulsive. Neither of us had more then a tasting and we passed on this. The fish tarter sauce again was not chilled but did offer some flavoring and was ok, but better if chilled. The 2 piece fried fish looked like what you could get out of a frozen box. The filets were flat, heavily breadded but did offer somewhat a hint of a piece of fried fish but very dense and dry, not flaky. We managed to eat 1 piece between the 2 of us. The baked fish was ok, moist and well seasoned with herbs, butter and paprika. We split that and it was ok. The baked potato was what anyone would expect, fairly good size with a slit down the middle. The one pad of butter included seems chintzy and no sour cream, so we added our own. My side salad was nice and fresh and it included one sliver of red onion, a half cherry tomato and a quarter piece of cucumber along with ranch dressing.
