New to me place. The Peacock in English. Great service and excellent food. Deep, rich, flavors. Good prices. My 13 year old even loved it. I had enchiladas, and he had a burrito. The guacamole was great, and so were the plantanes. Solid place. We will go back.

One of my all time favorites… best tamales in Louisiana.

A wonderful neighborhood gem. Their authentic Mexican food is fresh and they serve up many unique twists on the staple menu items that are in most Mexican restaurants. Fabulous menu and very attentive and friendly servers. All set in a bright atmosphere (albeit a somewhat noisy one at peak times.) Very nice outdoor area if you prefer al fresco.

I’ve never had a bad meal here. Probably the best and most authentic Mexican food in the city. The servers are all so nice. Get any special they have! Always a solid choice. Definitely would recommend the crab and avocado quesadilla, fish tacos, and breakfast burrito. Their happy hour is also solid. I only wish they were open later!

10/10. Best Mexican food in the city. Unlike a lot of “boutique” mexican restaurants in this city, they make their tortillas in-house. Homey dining room that felt like my grandmas house. This is as authentic as it can get here. Will be returning. Food is priced great for the quality and the taste.

All the food we have ever eaten here has been amazing. The manager or owner is a really talented restauranteur and knows about the menu to help give recommendations you’ll love. All servers have been able to help me choose food, and the kitchen staff has kept me from getting glutened (I have celiac).

This place is basic, the food is basic and the staff treats patrons like children. With that said I had a good meal and enjoyed a couple of beers. Will I be back regularly? No and they have ensured that I won’t. It’s not a bad spot by any means but it’s discouraging new business to return. Please try the place and make your own decisions.

Wonderful food drinks and service. I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it was. I will definitely be going back to the hidden gem

Really just mediocre food and mediocre service all combining. The popcorn instead of chips and salsa (like an actual Mexican restaurant) tastes of oil and nothing else. The drinks and food are overpriced for portion sizes AND quality. I left disappointed in the tacos complete lack of flavor and the servers seeming to lack any communication as I waited nearly 5 minutes to even be greeted by a host or a server once I was sat. The most outstanding thing about this place was that nothing stood out at all.

I had heard good things about El Pavo Real but was quite disappointed. The guacamole had no flavor whatsoever and my main dish, the chilaquiles, was a monstrosity of baked cheese that did not even slightly resemble the real thing. To top it all off, my chilaquiles had a large strand of hair baked inside. I am thankful that they refunded the Chilaquiles, the only redeeming part of the dining experience. Would not recommend.
