Last night in South Dakota and had such a great experience at Jakes. First off the food was amazing. Absolutely delicious. Can’t say enough about the flavor combinations in each course. Highly recommend the gluten free pasta too if you have a gluten allergy. The ambience was wonderful. It’s a small and intimate place on the 4th floor of a casino with a fireplace and gorgeous pillars. It’s not loud even when the place is full. The view by the window overlooking deadwood’s Main Street was awesome. Finally the service was top notch. Jesse, our server was funny, attentive and truly wonderful. He took my allergy seriously and we loved having him to take care of us for our meal. Everyone else was also super friendly and helpful. The prices were also fair and reasonable! Love, love, love!!!

This restaurant is surprisingly and absolutely gorgeous. The deco is aesthetically classic and sophisticated. Food is flavourful and perfect. Service is also extraordinary wonderful. Though priced decently high, I totally feel well worth the money.

Yeah, it was really good. The tenderloin trio was excellent, although the texture of the elk reminded me of tenderized beef that had been beaten a bit too much. Cool, calm atmosphere, good drink choices. I wasn’t happy about them nickel and diming me for a split plate fee on a $55 entry.

While enjoying a wonderful day in Deadwood with the family (kids are 9-13), we decided to have dinner at Jakes. The reviews were amazing and the food photos looked suburb. It was a bit confusing finding the place when we entered the building, but eventually we found the right floor. When we exited the elevator, we were greeted by two very confused hostesses. When I asked if this was the restaurant, they said yes, but it was fine dining. Before we could say whether or not we were aware it was fine dining (it was just 5 pm and only one couple was seated at the time), someone else, maybe a server or manager, quickly approached and said we wanted the grill downstairs and they would escort us. He said Jakes does not have kids menus and we would love the grill downstairs with chicken strips and mac and cheese. He literally took us to the hostess on the floor below. I have never felt so horrified in my life. We are not in tuxes or gowns, but we are not in dirty clothes either. We absolutely could and would have spent the $500-600 for a glorious meal in a beautiful town. It’s too bad we couldn’t try this place. We will be taking our money elsewhere and encouraging others to beware. Don’t bring kids and make sure you look the part or you will not be allowed in.

Wonderful service! Great food! Our server Robb was a delight and even gave us a little history lesson about the place! It’s beautiful and elegant. We had the steak and Buffalo and melt in your mouth! I would recommend to anyone wanting a top notch meal!

We didn’t have a reservation yet they graciously found us a nice table in the dining room. There’s wait staff was very helpful and kind and professional. The decor and atmosphere was impeccable to where we almost felt underdressed. Although we were there for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The food was fabulous. We highly recommend Jake’s fine dining.

We have now been there twice in 2 weeks and the food and service has been excellent both times. First time we had the elk, venison and buffalo trio and the 2nd time had the charcuterie plate. Both were excellent. This is fine dining with white linen service at a reasonable price!

What a bad experience I made a reservation at 1 pm and requested a table bye a window , 10 minutes later it was confirmed, when we arrive she was going to seat us across the isle and a table Angeles on a corn which is a night mare I was hit by a tray there in the past we refuse and the said the window table was reserve months in advance we were told that last year and as they were never anyone seated at them at all and the older waitress stated there were no managers in the building the designs were up to her as we left the building I ask what I thought to be the door man to have the manager call us and he was the manager and said he was sorry and he would have refused that terrible table him self and he would have the general manager call so we will see bye the reviews they never offer any kind of resolve we have been eating there since the year it opened , ashame the service since Mr Costner sold it is so bad , tourist town they don’t care just assume you won’t be back. Well what a concept
