Personally not typically excited about old-school fine dining restaurants and generally prefer more fun & creative menus (at any price point) … but this place was awesome! Surpassed all my expectations, and in addition to a well-comprised (and executed) fine dining menu, they had some creative chef specials that were simply outstanding. Each and every member of the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the food. We were sat in a big comfy booth with a view of the water, and the non-stuffy yet still refined ambiance was perfect. Excited to have a restaurant of this caliber just up the road. Will be back soon.

Great place with bay views and family atmosphere. My. America 75 cocktail was excellent, complex and refreshing, well worth $14, The bar margarita and French chardonnay weren’t. Dinner consisted of an excellent (best ever) crab cake and a very good haddock dish. One of my companions was impressed by the west indies salad. The place busy but the service was good. We were able to catch the fireworks after dinner out back while children played. Memorable.

Wow, the setting, the food, the service, top notch. It’s what you would expect from a place named the Grand Hotel. Gregory was not only a great server but also quite the philosopher. This is exactly what I was hoping for but then it exceeded my expectations. The dishes shown are beef tenderloin and swordfish. As we were enjoying our meal we watched the sun slowly sink into the horizon over a fabulous view of the bay.

Food was very good. Scallops and risotto where scallops were done perfectly and risotto was creamy yet bland (for my taste). Onions, cheese, anything – but still good. My wife had the grouper and it was terrific as well. Service was slow, our waiter forgot our oysters (the he sold us on!) & never checked back to see if my wife or I wanted another glass of wine. Our experience – food A+, service D-.

We went to Southern Roots and were blown away! The restaurant ambiance is very romantic. We loved our server, Dallas! We ordered the Salmon special and mushroom risotto and split both. The food was incredible! I loved the confit potatoes. They do not provide an corking fee if you want to bring your own wine however.

So sad to say the food was mediocre. SR came highly recommended and the atmosphere was fantastic. Two of us dined. We each had a crab cake app, one had “by catch” (mahi-mahi) and the other had the 16oz ribeye. Was super disappointed in all based on the high hopes we had. Would not order any fo these again. The bread pudding however was the best I’ve ever had. Our bill was $250 including tip. Our waiter was great. Would not dine here again based on our dinner (sad to say). Had two other people with us who were on their own ticket, and they felt the same way.

Nice place. Pricey but pretty good food. Its a nice atmosphere. My wife and I had Valentine’s dinner reservations. Her filet was overcooked but they fixed it. The rest of the dinner was good, but the Valentine’s dessert was very disappointing. Cotton candy on top of a little chocolate soufflé. Not very good input opinion.

Superb in every facet. This evening the lamb special was just that special, and the best I’ve ever eaten. Wish I had asked the chefs name to write it here. The presentation was off the charts. Christian, our server, was delightful and witty. The sun had set, but the lights bouncing off the Bay soothed our souls as we relished every bite.
