The food is absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t believe it took me that long to finally stop in and eat here but once I did, I ate there two more times in the same week. If and when you check this place out, ask to say hello to Julie, she’s the owner and head chef.

Excellent food and service. Leah was an awesome waitress. The Valentines dinner was awesome! Good selection of different veggies each day.

I loved it so much I came a few days later with a friend to eat again. Tried the fried pork chop first and was not disappointed! So tender and juicy and the Mac and cheese was so full of real cheddar cheese I loved it. Then came back and couldn’t resist the chicken and strawberry salad. I will definitely be back for more of both of those dishes. Also shared a piece of cookies and cream cake with my friend. I usually beg off on the last piece of anything because they tend to be dry but it was so worth it and not dry. Can’t wait to come back.

My new favorite spot! I tried this place right before the weekend. I think it was Friday. Was greeted by a beautiful blond waitress whom I initially thought was the owner. She welcomed and helped my disabled mom into the restaurant with open arms, gave us a breakdown of each main item and also a brief history of the restaurant. We chose some great meals and then shared some yummy banana pudding. Next time I have to bring mom to the doctors this will be our new spot. Recommend to everyone.

Been here twice and had just an okay experience both times. Some food items are great (pork chops, cornbread), some aren’t good at all (cold Mac and cheese w/ unmelted shredded cheese, smothered chicken with tiny pieces of spine throughout). Service is just okay, not great. The waitress knew I wasn’t happy with the mac and cheese and didn’t acknowledge the uneaten bowl of it or offer to replace it with another side. Half our table got the good mac and cheese, the other half got the “freshly made” one which was completely raw. They did get rid of reservations which is good because they had a very odd way of doing reservations to start with. It’s also very hot and muggy in the dining rooms due to the front door opening and closing all the time.

Great customer service, and very welcoming (Dustin my waiter)was great. The food looked great, the chicken and dressing was good. Very little dressing but still good. The Togo club sandwiches were good, but the sides were not good at all. Very bland every side greens, cornbread casserole, sweet potato patties. Even the sliced tomatoes I ordered were over ripe, and the fruit salad tasted as if it were soaked in water. The corn muffin I literally had to spit in my napkin. I told the waiter about the sides, and he apologized, and I even asked if he passed the info along to ppl in charge and he said yes. They did nothing did nothing to make it right. I messaged them in private, and no reply, yet they’re replying to others on the Fb and posting new post.

Been a resident of the NA area for about 4 years now. Wife and I are always looking for new places that aren’t chains/corporate owned. My wife saw McNeelys Place on FB and suggested we try it sometime this week. We went on Thursday for lunch. Wife had hamburger steak, collards and squash casserole. I had fried pork tenderloin, mac & cheese and a side salad. Both of us tried the famous pineapple bread. FANTASTIC 1,000/10. Taste just like a warm hug from grandma and the environment was so cozy and charming. The server was top notch. She was warm, funny and engaging and very attentive. She convinced us to try some dessert which we both LOVED. I had the banana pudding and she had the caramel layer cake. Fantastic!!!!!!!! This place will now be our comfort spot for any special occasion or any non-special occasion because we don’t need any excuse to come back. So grateful we found this beautiful place. Hope this stays a hidden gem so we always have this spot. Thank you to the staff for a lovely lunch.

We stopped in to try this place after seeing in in the little augusta guide book and reading reviews. We sat outside on the porch which was really nice. We ordered the daily special, fried country steak with white gravy. The steak was extremely tough, hard to cut and even chew. The gravy was good though. We tried the macaroni and cheese, lima beans, collards and red beans. Each side lacked flavor and seasoning, we were not impressed. I did get a slice of the pineapple banana nut bread which was fantastic. We will probably not dine here again based on our experience. I will give a high five on the charm of the restaurant, the customer service and the banana bread.

First time at McNeely’s. Really good food and a very friendly atmosphere. We will be back for sure! Everything on the menu looks great. We tried the Summer salad, Roast beef sandwich and BLT. We all really liked the food. Highly recommended!

The waitress was nice and spot on. She promptly took our orders and checked on us several times. Excellent service. The dining area was immaculate and set to southern charm. The menu is small and the portions are normal lunch size servings. I wasn’t able to finish the shrimp and grits but polished off the jalapeno cornbread, lima beans and broccoli casserole. My friend cleaned her plate, so it must have been good.
