We went to this place in 2018 and I didn’t think we would ever go back. We honestly didn’t think they’d last because the atmosphere, service and food were all disappointing and the food was overpriced for the quality. HOWEVER…. we gave it another chance in July of 2023 and what a very different experience! The clam strips were the best I’ve ever had anywhere, ever! I also got the fried shrimp platter and it was decent, but probably still a little over priced. (9 shrimp, some frozen fries and a tiny plastic cup of slaw for $24?!) It was definitely better though and we will go back again. Tables by the windows or outside give a nice view of Lake Michigan and the Yacht Club.

It could have been an excellent experience. Our party of 5 went last Sunday for a late lunch. We were immediately seated inside however, they don’t seat you by the bar when not all members of your party are 21+. We had the bloody mary which was a delicious drinkable snack. It had celery, olives and a large cocktail shrimp. We ordered lobster mac n cheese – hearty portion, salmon tagine – cooked to perfection, shrimp and grits – too salty, scallop bucatini – most excellent white sauce I’ve ever had and my poorly executed grouper sandwich. First I ordered it sauteed but it was delivered fried, burnt and overdone. It was tough and dry, totally unappetizing. It was for this reason that my review is only 2 stars. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the sandwich but it was not willingly taken back to the kitchen. I didn’t want this to be blamed on the waitress alone. Not sure who/where it got messed up. And BTW, my dish came after all my friends have nearly finished with their meals. I am sorely disappointed 🙁

The service was great . But the seafood bolognese wasnt edible. Super salty and nasty! I had to force myself to try to eat it but I couldn’t.

Bacon cheeseburger and fries were excellent along with the drinks. I even tried octopus and I’m not a seafood guy. I was there with my girlfriend who loves it so even a nonseafood person can tell you that the octopus was good.

We found Fish Camp looking for lunch after a trip to the dunes. We had the fried clam bellies, fish tacos, and fried grouper sandwich. The food was simple but delicious. The patio was perfect for a summer day and our waitress Felicia was great. Next time we go through Michigan City, we’ll be sure to stop again.

Wasn’t really hungry but on vacation I seek new places for good food and drinks. Had a pain killer and the char grilled octopus. Neither disappointed. The menu had a lot of options that sounded good too. If I’m ever in the area again, I’d be back.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Bartlett’s fish camp and I hope I pass through this city just so I could come back again. I tried a bunch of seafood here and I wasn’t let down at all and I enjoyed every bite. First off, just coming to this area and where the restaurant is located is quite beautiful. This place sits just right off the water so eating outside is a must because who can beat eating with a view? Every staff member was quite kind and held out suggestions when needed and they always checked up on us in a timely manner. Now when it comes to the food, yet again, no complaints. Started off with oysters, superb slurp-age and the sauces are a good pairing. Clam chowder was decent, a good portion and a bunch of yummy chunks. We continued with calamari which was good, I ordered the lobster roll which came with good size lobster chunks and was fulfilling like I like it. Of course, you need to end with a dessert, and you can’t go wrong with crème brulee, sweet with little fruit refreshers. The overall experience here was wonderful and we even got a garment or two from their gift shop!

Love this place! We came from Chicago on our boat. A basic no frills setting but the menu is phenomenal! I had one of the best prepared salmon dishes- perfectly cooked with a fabulous sear. My husband enjoyed his “seafood stew” the actual name escapes me. The anise flavor in the stew was delightful and the stew was abundant with seafood. We also had peel & eat shrimp which were simple but delish. We are wine lovers & They had a good bottle list with some nice selections. We will be back again!

I got a pasta meal (which I can’t locate on the menu), it had scallops and we ordered oysters for appetizers. This was exactly a week ago. I have been sick since. Symptoms I don’t care to share directly. I knew something was off with the scallops, after eating two I pushed them to the side of the plate and didn’t even take my meal to go. The oysters were not good. I was really excited about having some too!
