Just tried Sahara and it exceeded my expectations! The chicken bowl was absolutely fantastic. I’m definitely going back for more. It’s not only delicious but also more affordable than similar options (like Pitaway for bowls), and I love supporting local businesses. Ignore the negative reviews about prices; they have been adjusted, and the value for the quality of food is excellent. Sahara’s prices are on par, if not lower, than other places in Metro Detroit. Highly recommend!

Good location, lots of parking, restaurant was clean, great customer service and everyone was very friendly. However, no lunch specials and prices are very high. I got a beef kafta sandwich with hummus and garlic and I paid $15. No fries or drink included, just the sandwich. It was good, don’t get me wrong.. The kafta was slightly overcooked but their dressing made it very moist. The sandwich was delicious, but with only 2 pieces of kafta in it I was still hungry. I was very excited to see another Mediterranean restaurant go in so close by (I grew up in Dearborn) but unfortunately, I will not be back often. This place is very similar to Mr. Kabob. Not comparable to La Marsa as far as options. I would get rid of the fancy (but cute) thick carryout bags and lower prices. As well as add lunch options.

Ordered for the second time as I read reviews saying they uped portions by 50%. I paid $72.70 for 3 Greek salads with meat. I attached a photo of my salad. The online menu still shows a heap of chicken and that’s still not what you get and my co-workers salad had even less meat, so disappointing to see this. The Greek salad has no pepperocini’s, uses plain canned black olives instead of Kalamata olives and the “Fattoush” dressing was slightly seasoned oil & vinegar. Probably won’t order here again until prices are lowered. Don’t get me wrong everything was absolutely delicious just well overpriced for a smaller portion than what a standard dinner would give you.

I attached pictures for my overpriced food. Such a small salad for $23. The food was decent but not worth it. I was looking forward to visiting this restaurant but I was shocked at the prices. $41 for a gyro and salad. Not coming back. Prices are too high.

An extraordinary culinary journey awaits at Sahara Middle Eastern Restaurant! From the moment you step in, you’re transported to a realm of exquisite flavors and authentic dishes. The ambiance is inviting, and the staff’s warm hospitality makes you feel like family. The menu is a delightful blend of traditional Middle Eastern fare and modern twists, each dish a masterpiece of taste and presentation. I was particularly impressed by fatoosh salad with chicken and the chicken pita wrap, which was a true symphony of flavors.

I was hopeful for a new place but this is extremely expensive for the amount that you get, the location, and the type of service. I paid $42 total for 2 people. Chicken shawarma pita wrap ($13), 2 side salads ($6 each), 6 boneless wings ($10), and 2 – 16 oz bottles of pop ($3 each). I did receive a small discount for a combo. The wrap was a decent size, possibly enough for 2 people, so that is nice. The side salads are a small container size (think a sandwich box at a fast food place). The vegetables were fresh. The food did taste well, but for what I received and the price I paid, I would rather go to a dine in, sit down restaurant.

Over priced and underwhelming. The portions are unreasonably small for the cost of a meal. The “bed of rice” is more like a thin sheet of rice.

Friend and I came here for lunch today for the first time. Both of us got shawarma sandwiches & baklava; staff was very friendly and helpful and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food.

I’ve been here twice. Both times the service was very good. The first time I went was about three days after they had their grand opening. I ordered the Pita wrap. The Pita itself was a bit dry but the meat was good. The price also was a bit high. I decided to give them another try and ordered the gyro bowl. I noticed that the prices have come down and the amount was more than enough. The gyro bowl was also delicious. I will be back again.

The person at the counter was fantastic helping me figure out how to order what we wanted (we have been going to E. Lansing to get Middle Eastern and the ordering here is a bit different, but in a good way). Large portions so the price is justified and will make 2-3 meals for us. Chicken shawarma was good with all the topping choices and the lemon chicken rice soup was filling (thicker soup) and flavorful.
