I love pad Thai and I get it anytime I go to a Thai restaurant at least for the first time because I think it says a lot about a Thai place if they can do a good job with a basic like pad Thai. This place has probably the best pad Thai I’ve ever had in the Portland area. It has such flavor with floral notes and savory notes.

A perfect meal! All of the food was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and the chef came out to speak to us. The short rib massaman curry was so good, I could drink it! It’s just up the street from Honey Paw and is just as excellent, if not better!

We stumbled into happy hour here and it was great! Drink specials + $1 dumplings with a variety to choose from. We came back a second time in our trip to enjoy! The inside is very nice- clean, nice decor, very nice bar. Highly recommend!

Great meal! Everything was exceptional. We started with the Fresh Rolls (great flavors, loved the basil), Veg and Edamame Dumplings, and Chive Dumplings (very unique, excellent). The Pad Thai was the best ever. Drunken Noodles were very good. The massaman sauce with the Lion King was heavenly. 2 star spiciness was the right choice for us. The fried banana with vanilla ice cream was great.

Came here on a Sunday night for a party of 10 and was seated right away! Asian food in Maine??? Yay!!!! Love the seafood but after 5 days of Maine dishes, we were due for some Asian food again.

Tasty food. Quick service. Unique cocktail menu. Perfect portion size. Attentive staff. Detailed attention to meal preparation and presentation. Dok Mali was perfect. I loved the whole meal! I had mixed vegetables with shrimp, brown rice, and a pot of hot Thai tea (all pictured). My partner got the spicy cashew chicken minus the vegetables and very much enjoyed it! For my part, I could go on for a long time about how great the vegetables were (variety, appearance, doneness), but instead I will go on about the perfection of Dok Mali’s brown rice. Yes — brown rice. This is the first time I ever had brown rice that tasted good at a restaurant. The rice is a short, plump grain cooked by someone who knew what they were doing. It’s safe to say I over-raved at my server about how wonderful my meal was. I highly recommend Dok Mali!

The blossom dumplings were so incredible that I ate slow small bites to prolong the experience.

Came in just before the lunch crowd starting rolling in. Food came fast. Lunch special was delicious, perfectly spiced (at a 3 out of 5 for me!) and the vegetable tempura, which usually feels like a cop out side dish to me, was really nice. Just enough crispness. Not heavy or doughy. Drunken noodles with chicken was completely on point. I’m so satisfied and surprised it was so easy to get in!

I’ve eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants in Maine (Veranda Thai, Orchid Thai, Thai Garden, and Best Thai 2) and I can honestly say this is the best Thai I’ve had. The Gyoza were perfectly crispy and cooked with a dipping sauce rich in green onion flavor. The Strawberry Sour drink was DELICIOUS with a smooth, slightly foamy consistency thanks to the egg white. Those were all incredible, but the Pineapple Fried Rice was still the standout! It had a lovely curry flavor and was so, so good. It was enough food for a dinner and a lunch, since we had the appetizer. The interior was small, with about 6-8 spaces at the bar and a bit more table seating. We got there before 5:30 to snag an early table and the timing was great–the restaurant was pretty much filled by 6 pm (on a Saturday). I highly recommend; we will definitely be eating here again!
