Amazing Food! My family managed a Mexican restaurant for years and are very picky about our Mexican cuisine but this checked all the boxes! INCREDIBLE food, great location, indoor and outdoor seating and open late (well, for Morro bay 9 is very late to us lol). I had the Enchilada Wrap with Chicken, I’ve never heard of such a thing as a “wrap” and was skeptical but it was incredible! I will order it again when I return and probably never switch- it was THAT good. Also the menu might not mention it but the meals did come with sides, mine came with with a side salad with some sort of creamy cilantro dressing that was bomb and, guac + rice on the side too. Boyfriend got the barbacoa burrito and liked it, he ordered a side of rice not knowing the burrito came with some rice, chips, guacamole and sour cream. I also had the mango beer and I’m not a beer person but it was to tasty and like a mango seltzer- highly recommend if you want a fun fruity bubbly drink. We sat it the patio and used the heaters which was perfect for our dogs to come with. Lastly they do have inside seating as well! Pleasant staff, good pricing, lots of food options, dog friendly patio & super nice staff, Federico’s is is a pleasant new addition to Morro bay!

Not a big deal, but we were expecting a “waited” table setting. Instead, it’s an order/pickup at the counter style with seating. Service was great, but the wait for our order was a little longer than expected. Our food was brought to us which was nice as we were expecting to walk up to the counter to get it. Everything tasted fresh. My asada burrito was small for the price but the taste made up for it. The chicken taco salad was appropriately sized and really good. The decor is a fusion of Hawaii and reggae music, the total beach vibe.

Food was good and staff was friendly. The place seen clean and tidy. First time we’ve been there. It’s Mexican food but the owners are from Hawaii so there is a bit of Hawaiian decorations and they where playing country music.

A great new place in MB, authentically original. How do you do Mexican food in a new way when there seems like countless variations already? Fly in fresh fish from Kauai, supplemented with local catch, richly season and spice it, put in the good stuff and leave out the bad, and Voila, you have Federico’s. Having traveled to Kauai and lived in the central coast for many years, we know both places well, and so Maria and her team in the quiet northern coastal edge of Morro Bay have done both locales well here. They are tucked away in a corner of a small strip mall where several restaurants have come and gone, but if more people discover this place, Federico’s will be the place that is here to stay (finally!). Reasonably large portions, a fresh and varied menu, stuff for the kiddies, a simple vibe, sparkling clean, friendly service and good prices for this quality, so let’s hope they get discovered. Well done Maria and family!

Fish & carne asada tacos are delicious! If you come in the evening on Friday or Sunday they have live music which was fun. Will definitely be back. Maybe eventually we will visit their Hawaii location.

Heard all about how wonderful the seafood was. Went for lunch w a girlfriend to try it out and we split an ahi tuna burrito meal. It came w some guacamole and 8 tortilla chips. We were denied a request for a few more chips unless we ordered a separate order of chips and salsa. Okay. Seemed stingy for a few chips. The burrito was 60-70% plain white rice. The fish bits weren’t bland but the overall flavor with so much minimally seasoned rice certainly was. Also, though we were there at noon we were the only customers when we arrived and several of the tables were not wiped. Someone told me I should have tried the ceviche instead of the ahi burrito, but w so many choices for good Mexican and seafood in our area, I probably won’t be going back.
