We live in St. Johns and normally drive the 30 extra minutes to go to another Bono’s location to avoid this one but since we had a long day we figured to give this location another try since it’s so close to us. When we received our order my bf took one bite and realized his pork was dry, I also tried it and agreed. My bf told the waiter which responded with that he didn’t know what to do so he’d let someone else know. The manager came to our table and it was the same thing….he offered my bf another pork sandwich so my bf asked if the pork would also be dry and the manager said “he didn’t know” and offered if he can bring him chicken instead. We ended up asking for a refund and can hear the employees talking about us behind the counter. The woman at the front didn’t make eye contact with us as she was giving us the receipt, I simply thanked her and she didn’t say a word. We didn’t create a scene and just simply wanted what we were paying for. We ended up driving to the other Bonos location in Neptune Beach and the food was delicious and the staff was friendly like always. Unfortunately, we won’t be visiting this Bono’s again anytime soon.

Ordered 2 dinners and 1 app. One dinner had the wrong sides and one dinner had wrong meat combo. For a ~ $50 meal after tax, tip and service charges, you expect the food to be correct.

This restaurant has fair prices and friendly staff/service. The food is good and served fast. I typically order the pulled pork or the turkey platter. In my opinion, places like Bonos/Woodys/Sonnys are basically the same. If I’m truly craving BBQ, I tend to visit places like 4 Rivers, Woodpeckers or Mojos. Having said that, Bonos is still decent option if you a looking for a quick BBQ meal.

This was the worst quality food we have ever gotten from a Bono’s. Service was just not personable and just ok but certainly a roll of the dice when your expected to pre tip. Ordered a Slawpy Pig and the bun was burned, the meat was dry and had bones in it, I almost cracked a tooth. On top of all of that the restaurant has moved away from table service to the quick service model where you order and pay and tip before you go find a seat then hope the service you tipped actually is provided. Sorry but that isn’t how tipping works, especially when you have a bad experience, we should have turned around and left when we saw the set up was different than what we have come to expect from Bonos. If this were Memphis Jax or Willie Jewels where this type of service is part of the program and if you eat there your expecting the general disney quick service style. We know better than to complain to the kid working at the counter or the kid running the food because they dont care, we just won’t come back.

We ordered the 50 smoked wings with BBQ and Buffalo sauce on the side. About a 25 minute wait once I ordered it. Excellent service, and great smoky wings!
