I was a little skeptical after reading some negative reviews but we decided to give it a shot. Our waitress was great, we loved the atmosphere, the food was timely and excellent. I had the steamed shrimp & my husband had fried oysters. We are from out of town but if I lived local, I would def eat here often!

Awesome Long Island Ice Tea, huge Salad and pretty good scallops. It took a while to get service but after we got it, it was very good. The atmosphere wasn’t great but the view of the water made up for the dated decor….but really…. what should you expect? Thankful they are open!!

Leadbelly’s is a family owned restaurant sitting on the Fairport Marina, one of our favorite places here on the Northern Neck. Sometimes service is a tad slow if you get there past 630 on a Friday or Saturday, but the prices and the dishes are usually worth the wait. Fresh fried oysters, alligator bites, crab cakes with hardly any filler, various sandwiches and BIG BUTT BREAD….Oh, the big butt bread…all homemade good stuff.

First time at Leadbelly’s. Had wonderful Waterman’s BLT. Huge crab cake on the BLT. Fabulous hushpuppies and Bloody Mary was excellent. Will go back as often as I can.

My boyfriend and I stopped in Leadbelly’s Restaurant for lunch. The restaurant has amazing views! We enjoyed the crabcake sandwich and softshell crab sandwich and onion rings. The service was very friendly.

Seems to be communication issues between front and back of the house. The green beans were cold. 10-15 minutes on a plate cold. Crab cake was slightly warm vs the too hot to eat if right off the heat. The pickle I asked for was not on the plate. I had ordered “My Mary Oysters” but was then told I never ordered them when the meal was brought out. When I say, “That sounds great. Yes, let’s get those started.” that means I have ordered them. Taste of the crab cake – meeh – not much to note – rather bland. The bun had sat out long enough to get stale. My wife’s food seemed good – hot. We were served 5 minutes or so after the table beside us even though they arrived 10-15 minutes after we placed our order. It was nice that I got a small plate of hot green beans after wait staff was told about the cold food.

Soft shell crabs and crab balls were very good but my friend’s shrimp was overcooked and chewy. Staff very friendly but we had to wait for our order much longer than I had expected since they only had 5 other tables.
