Our first visit to Japengo was wonderful. Our server and the supporting wait staff were excellent, attentive and not overbearing. Our food was beautifully presented, served hot (cool for the sushi) and every dish was flavorful and filling. The artistic combination of Asian flavors with standard fare (beef, pork chop, fried rice, sushi) made dinner incredibly satisfying. We did not order drinks from the bar and soft drinks were refilled when needed. The ambiance was…perfect. Open air, outdoor seating allowed for all 5 in our parry to have a view, although each was different. A bit cool with the breezes off the ocean so a sweater might be right for those who get chilled easily. We would highly recommend Japengo and will definitely return.

Made reservations for our honeymoon and we had an awesome experience! Food was awesome and the vibes were beautiful with the sunset. The value isn’t quite there but I know its an on-site restaurant to an awesome hotel with a beach view so I can’t be too critical.

Such a wonderful place for Sushi rolls, seafood and fabulous ocean views. Be sure to get reservations as they get booked fast, although check online as they also get cancellations and spots open up. The food is amazing, the views are to die for.

Excellent dining experience. Service was amazing, and food was genuinely good. Karaage chicken was really great, and the different roles we got were all equally unique and amazing. Highly recommend this spot if you’re staying at the Hyatt!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience at Japengo. We had reservations and were seated promptly on time. Our server was cheerful and attentive. Cocktails, appetizers, and entrees were delivered timely and the evening was very enjoyable. All of the food was delicious.

Views are stellar, food and service are subpar. Come for the views, but don’t expect top notch food. The sushi was lacking esthetically and definitely didn’t live up to what I would have expected for $26 per roll. Fake crab in a $26 roll, rolls made sloppily etc. My husbands sashimi was inedible and the poke was the blandest thing I’ve ever tasted and was served atop old undercooked crunchy rice. Cocktails were yummy but for $20 each they should have some nice garnishing more so than just a pineapple slice.Took over 3 hours for dinner service and we watched multiple parties that arrived after us leave before us. Wouldn’t return.

One of my favorite restaurant’s that I visited @ the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa in Maui…went with my sister & niece. We all tried something different & tried everyone’s dish. All I can say is “OMG”… can’t tell you wish was the best. Each dish had It’s own exquisite taste. Also had the shiitake mushrooms as a side & they were amazingly delicious. Made reservations ahead of time & got an awesome table that overlooked the ocean & sunset. This restaurant is a must…Tab was worth every penny ❤️
