OH. MY. My second time here and I am genuinely mind blown. I have been to many restaurants but have never been mind blown by every course. This was spectacular- from the appetizer, the onion soup is to DIE for.

We made a last-minute decision to go to dinner at 555 North based on a recommendation. We arrived at 6:30 on a Sunday evening without a reservation. They quickly accommodated us with a beautiful table on the porch. They had a limited local craft beer selection on draft, cans, and bottles. They offered a signature spirited and non spirited drink list. We ordered the five onion soup, the garden salad with goat cheese, bread and butter, the sword fish steak, and the Five’s Steak House filet mignon.

I highly recommend visiting 555 North in Brunswick for an outstanding dining experience. The service at this restaurant is truly exceptional, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a fantastic visit. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The servers were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which added to the overall enjoyment of our evening.

Blown away and not expecting such a wonderful dinner and service. The presentation of each course was beautiful. We had The Homestead cocktail which had unique ingredients that was so delicious. Our apps included Bangs mussels and a nice bread. Then our party had the pork, scallops, duck, and fish entrees. Wow!!! Finally we had the carrot cake that was exactly what we needed to finish off our meal. This place will be our new go to.

Top notch kitchen, bar, and waitstaff in very pleasant rooms within Brunswick, ME’s The Federal hotel. Every bit as good as its Portland predecessor. I had sole in a butter sauce that was to die for on most recent visit. Others in our party really enjoyed short ribs, primavera pasta, and both desserts we tried, a crème brûlée and a carrot & parsnip cake. Terrific wine list including wonderful complements to the menu.

We tried 555 again last evening. Service was friendly but not well acquainted with the menu or wine list. Salads were excellent. Mains were less well executed. One dish was grossly undercooked. The staff were quick to remake the meal, but it shouldn’t have left the kitchen. Dessert was excellent. Overall I feel the experience is not at the level I would hope for.

First let me say this is currently my favorite restaurant. Everything you loved about the original 555 in a modern, elegant space.

Phew, what to say about this place. Been here five or six times, eaten four times. This place is one of those touristy Instagram-generation places. Everything looks great when you walk in. But go on the wrong night and you’ll wait five minutes for a drink. Then you take a look at the menu, and the only reasonably priced item is clams. By the way, the clams are the only thing I’ve had on the menu that were acceptable for the price. They were quite good actually.
