This place has really went down hill & they had no waitstaff to seat you or even to take your order. You have to order only by keisk. You can only pay w debit, credit card or gift certificate because there’s NO ONE To cash you out only the machines to do it yourself. The bathrooms were NASTY & the price of the burgers were crazy priced for the tiny bit we got. Paying over 10.00 for an onion burger w onion rings to only get 5 small onion rings & a bun soaked in grease. The cheese fries were cold & only half somewhat done the other half soggy raw. When we got there, we had no idea you seat yourself, pick up your food yourself & order food at a kiosk not even a welcome from the couple of staff that was there. Had to wait forever to get someone to give us our ranch that you pay for but they forgot to give us. It’s like a ghost restaurant with no one to help you or ask any questions to. Better off eating somewhere else that you at least get greeted.

They have the best pickles and relish that I’ve ever had in a fast food joint.

Me and my mom came here for a quick bite to eat, I ordered chicken tenders and fries and my mom ordered a frisko melt. However, there was to much sauce on the frisko and requested a remake and it came out the same way. The chicken tenders was average and the Chilli was the same. I do really wish that they being cashiers and servers back, since the kiosk has less options. You could go to mcdonalds and get more interaction there and customer service. Personally, everything was OK, but the tables were mostly dirty, a second time we were here still dirty. Things would be easier if servers and busses were brought back so things can stay clean and have more interaction.

The food is good, good prices (better than many restaurants lately), good portions. Staff was prompt and friendly, though not much interaction due to the use of ordering kiosks. The tables were clean, but floor is dirty and actually has many broken tiles, so the place definitely needs some significant maintenance and repairs.

We waited 45 minutes for our meal. 2 meals total. Had I not paid, at the kiosk, for my order I would have walked out after 15 minutes. The store was filthy- nobody wiping tables down between guest. I know this because we were there so long. People had ketchup, soda and shakes on their tables. With all the other choices in Alpine, this one will not be my choice again.

Steak N Shake on Alpine is downright horrible. We waited 45 minutes for our order. During that wait, another customer attempted to order using the kiosk. The customer could not complete their order because they were using cash. They asked for assistance and were told “we’re too busy to cash out on register.” Absolutely terrible customer service.

We had a culture shock moment with Steak and Shake. We were not aware they had made a change in 2020 to no longer have Wait staff and have not dined in since Covid.

Walked in and nobody there to take an order. There was a mumble from an employee to use a touch screen. No menu to be seen and no offer to help us with our order. We went down the street to Culver’s. Culver’s was delicious! Will not return to the alpine steak and shake ever again.

Whenever we’re in the area, we always make a stop as this has been a favorite location for years. Went through the drive through yesterday evening. I realized this afternoon that I didn’t get my credit card back after paying. I tried calling several times to let them know I would come get my card (I am not from the area) but no one answers the phone. Thankfully I turned my card off because I got an alert that someone tried spending $77 at McDonald’s! Shady staff! I will never go back to this location.

So disappointed in the changes. You have to order on a kiosk now. There’s no one to ask if you have questions. They call your name when your order is ready, set the food down, and walk away. Also, there are no more special flavors for the Coke. The whole atmosphere is just sad compared to what it used to be. It’s probably my last time coming here.
