Just not what it used to be. I used to eat here at least once almost every week. The food started going downhill, and it never really bounced back. It’s not terrible, but not as good as in years past. The sushi used to be a favorite addition for me, but now it’s just tiny rolls with dry rice and very little meat and veg. I still go on occasion because it’s conveniently located to me, but if I have a few extra minutes, I drive to better options.

I used to really enjoy going here. I’m not sure if the one guy is overworked or what but he can be extremely rude and the food is not what it used to be either. Every single one of my dumplings was burnt. Definitely disappointing.

Love these guys! I’ve been coming here since I was pregnant with my first child in 2001 oh, and one of the employees who is very long-term still remembers my name as well as details about things I’ve told him over the years. The food is delicious, and the shop is clean. They’ve recently done some things to update oh, and it looks great!

Best Japanese hibachi and soba noodles in Cary / Apex! I’ve been going there 15+ years because it’s great food, very friendly staff and affordable. My kids have loved it since their grade school years and as adults now, they still like to go to Nakato Express. It’s especially fun for little kids because there is a big window overlooking the grill where the kids can watch your meal being made! If you’re looking for fancy, or one of those places where the cook performs, this is not the place for you. If just want good food Japanese food, simple, fast, affordable and friendly, then try Nakato Express!
