In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Great food and experience! I had the massive Bob’s Burger Deluxe Style (with bacon). I also had a side of coleslaw and a side salad. The coleslaw was heavy on vinegar, which gave a nice bite to balance the richness of burger. Servers were friendly and prompt. Restaurant was clean and decorated with much character. I would go back for more!

Great experience at black bear diner this morning. Lots of parking spaces, friendly staff, seated with no wait, food was delivered in short time and tasted great. Coffee was very good. Their papa burn hot sauce was also pretty good.

When you walk in they seat you, when you’re checking out they give you the receipt and you pay before you walk out. There custom sauces are amazing! We even purchased the habanero sauce when checking out. This place had great service and food. The restaurant was a little dirty like the AC vents and one of our cups had markings on it that wasn’t cleaned so the waitress got us a new cup. It was warm when eating. Like they barely had the AC running. There was a fly flying around and around the booth windows were dirty. I’m a clean freak so any dirt does bother me when dining out. The food Portions are generous and i definitely suggest the onion rings over the fries! I’d definitely get food to go next time! Coffee was good too!

All of the food was top notch. I ordered the southern scramble and a side of grits. The hubs ordered The Original Scramble and a Sweet Cream Waffle. And we got the kids scramble for the baby. I personally might try something different for my dish. It was a tiny bit heavy for me. But I’m glad I got to try it. The menu is so vast. We are excited to come back and try other things! Wow, what a restaurant. This diner almost has Disney World levels of theming. If you ever visited a girlscout camp, that’s definitely what this place feels like with all the nature and bear paraphernalia around.

Delicious Breakfast! The pancakes are so fluffy and the freshly made biscuits are out of this world. The cherry on the top was the wonderful server, Priscilla, she was on top of her game, gave us great recommendations on what to order, and she was also super friendly always with a smile on her face. She made the experience perfect. She brought out the food all at the same time and brought us anything we asked for. Would definitely come back to this place!
