Cioppino Restaurant is phenomenally an excellent restaurant that is located in the Strip District, walking distance from the downtown. It was selected by our group because of its exceptionalism in quality and service along with its accommodations for outdoor dining.

Excellent place and meal! We came here for our anniversary and our server, Mila was top notch. They had custom menus to welcome us and make the night even more special.

My husband and I are from out of town, and when I saw this place as an option I knew I had to take him here. The food was fantastic and our server Alex was amazing, she was there personable and professional. She is the only reason I left the review as five out five. The dinner aspect was amazing all around. We proceeded to the cigar lounge after which my husband was extremely excited about, we were met by an extremely rude bartender. I can’t even tell you her name, because she never offered it. She acted like she was annoyed the whole time when taking my husbands drink and cigar order. If it were not for Alex I would have rated the service a 2. I know everyone has off nights but this was an exciting experience for my husband that got dampened by her demeanor.

I had some higher expectations for my experience here due to the prices, but I was very disappointed. We ordered the antipasti, which was decent but not anything special, especially for the price. I ordered the crab cakes that came with the mac and cheese, and also added a side of the risotto. The crab cakes themselves weren’t too bad, albeit a little dry. However the mac and cheese and risotto were absolutely terrible. The mac was so salty I was trying to force it down trying to get my money’s worth. The risotto was dry, much of it was undercooked, and it didn’t have any flavor. Additionally, the cocktail I ordered was just okay but I wouldn’t order it again (Ruby’s Garden).

Overall good experience. The atmosphere is great for intimate gatherings or meeting up with friends after work. Had the grilled octopus as an appetizer, not bad, maybe a tad on the chewy side. Their signature dish, the cioppino, was good as well, the lobster was a little over cooked, but the rest of the dish was nicely prepared, although the broth could have used a bit more seasoning. The blackened grouper was tasty, topped with fried avocados, the accompanying vegetables made the dish. Lastly finished up with their house made cinnamon rolls, we werent impressed with those as much. They were small, a bit doughy and not really that sweet. Still enjoyed the night, the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

I was so interested to try Cioppino, and it was a disappointment. We had a small plate appetizer that was steakems with shreaded lettuce and big Mac sauce. It was sad. We orders champagne and our flutes sat empty on the bar for near 20 minutes. We were never offered another drink or asked how the food was. I had a half mind to say something, but I was disgusted. I threw my card on the bar hoping that would trigger a reaction. The bartender cashed us out and I think leaving was the best part of the experience.

Came here for an anniversary. Our waitress, Alex, was outstanding. The food was well seasoned and cook to perfection. The brownie and ice cream for dessert for our anniversary was a nice touch.

Atmosphere and ambience was great with a really nice view of the downtown skyline. Located in an up & coming urban Pittsburgh neighborhood on railroad tracks which gave a nostalgic quaint and unique feel to the dining experience on the patio. Very attentive wait staff on a Wednesday night. We ordered the signature dish (Cioppino) which fell a little short of expectations. Tomato broth that the seafood was immersed in was really just that –“tomato water” is how my companion described it. We needed to ask for salt and pepper to actually add flavor to the dish. Seafood was otherwise fresh and of superior quality. Calamari appetizer was delicious and came with a pickled pepper garnish. Mussel appetizers were unremarkable. They also came in minimal tomato broth and so many of the mussels were actually unfortunately dry.

I always loved this place and would stop in once a month. We had reservations for four and used their website for reservations. We were generously called by the restaurant and advised we would be seated in the lounge area. We confirmed that worked for us because we wanted the lounge menu anyway. We get there and check-in 5 minutes early. There are no seats for us. There was never an actual table held for us in the lounge. They moved us to the first open table (10 minutes after our reservation) to the dining room and advised we would not be able to order the lounge menu in the dining room even though we specified via the reservation in the phone call we would be in the lounge. We were literally the first dining table by the door.
