My wife and I first visited The Garden Cafe a couple weeks ago when some friends took us there. We enjoyed it so much that the following week we took my parents. The Garden Cafe is one of the most relaxing places we have been to in a while for dinner. Both times we arrived early and sat out on the patio talking and watching the turtles in the pond. Each evening was very comfortable outside. Our most recent visit, there was a wedding rehearsal taking place in their venue next to the Cafe.

This place is magical! It is very charming with excellent food! The chicken and mashed potatoes are to die for! Their potato soup is the best soup I have ever had! Our waitress was kind and on top of all of our requests! The ambience was very peaceful. They also have the coolest little bar and market!

I had not had dinner at the Garden Cafe but on a recommendation, decided it would be good for a Friday Date night. I really had the highest of hopes that I would be able to give this 5 stars, but they fell just a little short. Having not been here before (and having been asked while making reservations) I would have expected a bit better table. They placed us looking at the back door and next to the wait station. Not a good location for anyone, let alone first timers. Food was good and service was as well, but not absolutely “fantastic.” I will say the salad was VERY fresh and the best part of the meal. Again, no harm no foul, but keep your visitors in mind and do not place them near the wait station. (I would eliminate that table) I will certainly go back in hopes of giving 5 stars and did enjoy the atmosphere.

This restaurant came highly recommended and boy did it exceed my expectations! Didn’t know what to expect but this 1 of the nicest restaurants I’ve been too! From the hostess Nedra to our server Jane, it was a great way to spend an hour away from work. I had the bacon jalapeño poppers as an appetizer. I had the salmon BLT with fried green beans (upgraded side) while my co-worker had the special of the day which was a crab cake patty. Everything was awesome! Can’t wait to go back!

Love love love the Garden Cafe and it’s just getting better over the years. I call it upscale country but the Garden Cafe stands out vs anything around York. The “General Store” appeal when you 1st walk in is great.. service is always perfect. Buttermilk pie is a must and filet bites are amazing. You can’t go wrong here.

This place is amazing, the steak almost melts in your mouth, and the scenery both inside and outside is astounding. I love it, it’s a rustic southern place, and the food I would definitely choose over what Texas Roadhouse and Outback cook. This food is cooked to perfection, and my absolute favorite was the cream brûlée! Yummy, will definitely go back again, 10/10!

Great food and great atmosphere. Definitely worth the price. Had the Bacon Cider pork tenderloin with sweet potato, surf and turf. Appetizers were Bacon wrapped pimento cheese stuffed jalapenos and fried green beans

Nice little restaurant with unique style. Lots of antique decor and unique lighting. Make sure you call for reservations on Friday and Saturday because it’s very busy, me and my wife had to wait well over an hour to be seated. The menu has a lot of choices and the food we had was hot and fresh and good. The people working here are very friendly and made you feel like they knew you. This is a great place to go on a date or a special night out with your spouse. They also have a store where you can buy some really different items. The only downside is the parking lot is not paved and it is a little messy when it rains. They had a guy singing and playing the guitar the night I was there and he was really good.
