A great diner that would probably be overlooked by most. Most of the staff have worked there for many years, providing a sense of familiarity on each return visit. The menu has also remained stable with many familiar diner dishes with a handful of unique trademark dishes to set them apart from their contemporaries. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a taste of old Americana with a wide selection of comfort foods.

I’ve only eaten here once or twice, and it was standard satisfying diner fare. I have been coming here for AGES for the karaoke and dive bar. Johnny is no longer here (my original Shay’s bartender), but Sheri is AWESOME, and there is karaoke on Thursdays and Saturdays, starting at 8:00! (Great song selection, and experienced and talented host who is mindful of good sound.) I love me some karaoke, and this is one of few places I keep returning to….

The staff is lovely and make you feel welcome. The diner itself is very dingy and gross; very dated, complete with sticky carpet. The food is bland and not very good at all. Seems like this was once a great place but it needs a lot of updating and remodeling.

A simple place with simple food. Simple is good when you’re going somewhere and expect something, and Shays delivers. From being seated to getting your food and drinks, they do their job very well. The cooks are awesome and so are the waitresses. I visit at least once a week.
