We always enjoy this gem! Everything is so fresh and we love that the menu changes. The staff is friendly and professional and the restaurant is spotless! Don’t forget to try the craft cocktails! Below is the Mahi main dish and the Bucheron appetizer.

Great food as usual. The chef has adapted his menu to attract a wider variety of tastes. Even his comfort is elevated. Hidden gem!

Nice relatively new place to check out! Some things were a bit under-seasoned. Smaller dining room makes for more intimate setting. Nothing was out of this world impressive but overall good quality food and service.

A must foodie stop if you are in the area and a great addition to Southern Westchester. The food and cocktails are really good. I enjoyed the chopped salad, the crab dip and the duck confit ravioli. The Mezcal drink with Aperol was divine. A decent wine list, quite eclectic, with three choices from Mexico. I opted for the Montepulciano to pair with my pasta dish. With a few tweaks, such as the slow service, the lack of atmosphere, and the uninviting decor, this place could easily be a 5 star restaurant.

The food was lackluster. Fried zucchini had little to no zucchini in it. Shrimp tasted like it had been previously frozen, was rubbery and overcooked, and had a plastic aftertaste that wouldn’t leave my mouth after many hours. “Fresh” bread tasted stale and was very hard and cold. Food itself was lukewarm. Had the miso salad and could only taste the dressing. Below average food, was expecting exceptional. Severely disappointed. Restaurant itself was freezing inside despite the many portable space heaters running.

We came here the day after Valentine’s Day so it was quiet. We loved the ambience, but more importantly the food was fantastic. I could eat 12 of those octopus empanadas. My wild boar ragu was spot on, and my wife’s steak frites was perfectly cooked. Drinks were very good also. We look forward to dining at this neighborhood gem again very soon!

I have driven past Unico a million times but I never took the time to go in or look it up since the blinds are always drawn. On a Friday night I decided that my wife and I were going to go and try Unico out since we needed a change from the restaurants on Hartsdale Ave. We walk in and were asked if we had a reservation (we didn’t) but were offered a spot at the bar. The place was fully booked and there was literally four people running dinner service. The host also acted as the server and bartender and she did an amazing job and was extremely efficient. My wife tried their pineapple margarita and called it the best margarita she had ever had and proclaimed she could drink ten of them. We started with the muscles and octopus empanadas. The muscles were huge, plump, and had great flavor but no bread or starch was given. The octopus empanadas were unique and tasty but could have used a sauce. For our mains I got the cod ravioli and they were perfectly cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife got the steak frites with peppercorn sauce and she loved it. For dessert we got the deconstructed almond crumble cheesecake and it was one of the best cheesecakes, no the best desserts we had ever had. We loved the place so much we went back the other night with my parents, but this time we had a reservation. We had the muscles again but this time were given plenty of bread. We also got the garlic shrimp and which defiantly had a garlic punch to them but the portion size was a bit small. For our mains we got the duck, mahi mahi, ribs, and steak frites. Everyone loved their dishes and ate everything. For dessert we got the cheesecake again and we also tried the bread pudding. The pudding was also delicious and unique with its use of IPA beer and caramel sauce. Unico has great service, great food, and has a unique menu that uses fresh ingredients. My only qualm is that the pricing is fair but seems odd for something off Central Ave. Don’t let the closed blinds scare you away, give Unico a try

Unico was a unique experience. Everything Unico, the concept, the design, the menu and the cooking itself has the thoughts and follow through of Chef/ Owner Brian Sernatinger on or in it. Up until last night I had no idea what that meant.

Great vibe, amazing food, awesome service. Both appetizers we had were fresh and tasty (burratta and shrimp) and the dirty vodka martini was made super well.

Before I discuss my concerns about this establishment, I would like to preference my review by saying that the foods and drinks at Unico were absolutely amazing & tasteful. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, and it is a cozy place for a small gathering.
