Nice little restaurant. Good priced lunch specials and $2.99 margaritas until 2pm. Salsa is good with actual chunks of vegetables, not just a red liquid. Fajita taco salad was great with nicely grilled meat and veggies. Had no idea it has been open for three years. I just happened to see it on a whim.

Such a great spot! Heart of downtown Salem, it’s a hidden gem! This is a family owned restaurant and you can really tell they put their all into everything they do. The food is DELICIOUS and not you’re run of the mill Spanish/Tex mix joint. They have so much to offer on the menu as well. Friendly staff, great food. Would recommend!

Came on a Sunday evening – there were 2 servers about probably 4 parties including mine. We were seated immediately and got our drinks (had to ask for straws). When our food came out we asked for refills on our drinks. The girl just went back to the hostess stand and stayed there – she even brought other people their drinks then about 10-15min later we got our drinks. We waited another 10-15min later to be checked on. Asked for a to-go box and check. As you can see in the photo how is all that food suppose to fit in that little box? Overall the food was decent but the customer service needs improvement.

Food was very good, service was ok, prices are good. Was overcharged, then she said she fixed it but 2nd check was still overcharged , no attempt on her part to actually correct the total to what it was supposed to be. Overall a nice restaurant right in the middle of main street.

We had lunch at this wonderful hidden gem. I feel that this restaurant is under appreciated. The owners are Mexican, or so I am told. The food was authentic and delicious. The waitress was most helpful in explaining the various items on the menu but above all, she always had a smile and was friendly and engaging and the service was very expedient. A must try in order to have a delightful time.

Nice atmosphere. Our server seemed new, as she didn’t know anything about the beer offered or the food specials that were written on the board. I specifically asked if the Burrito Muchacho Alegre was on special for $10.99 (chalk board said so). She told me that it was while I was placing my order. When we received our bill, we were charged $11.99 each. I questioned the different price. She told me that they must have “messed up” when writing prices on the board.

We read the reviews on Muchacho and had to try it! Being raised on Mexican food I am very picky. We had a wonderful dinner! I had Carmitas and my husband a burrito. Servings were large and service was fast and excellent! Can’t wait to to back in the area again to eat there again!
