We did not have a reservation. It was a short walk from the hotel on 10/ 15 Saturday. . This is a fun Puerto Rican dance club/ restaurant. The cocktails were served in plastic cups. The margarita was strong but very good. We asked Ms. Paula to pick our 5-choice appetizer: croque, rellenos de papa, maduros- plantain, empanadilla carne (beef) and pollo (chicken). It was full of flavor and created in house. Our entrée was served by the chef. He was proud and I would be too. The whole red snapper was so juicy. I ate it hand to mouth like a mermaid, no shame! The chef was funny and talented. Our server Paula was very busy. She was polite and well versed on any menu item. She never once neglected us. I danced the night away after dinner

Needed a late night bite to eat and this place did not disappoint ! From the food to the customer service to the amazing dj and dance floor it was great! I would like to make a huge shout out to our waiter Alex! It was so refreshing having 5 star service from him! That is so hard to find anywhere ! Every person in the building had a smile on their face and were having so much fun dancing and enjoying the atmosphere. Sarasota needed a place like this! Keep it up!

I was there on a quiet Thursday, early evening. It was not crowded, but it should be. The staff (especially our server, Fabian) was very cheerful and attentive. Our appetizers were quick and good. My lady and I are both Puerto Rican and can say that the mofongo was legit. Very clean, a robust menu, and moderately priced, I hope to come again and will bring some friends.

Simple venue in an area distinguished for gastronomic competition between friendly neighbors restaurants. But there us no other Puertorrican Restaurant in the area to compare. I gave a 4 to the restaurant because service was very attentive and familiar, music was excellent. Good presentation very simple but nice.

Sorry to say but we were very dissatisfied with the quality of the food and the service. The mofongo did not taste good to our Puerto Rican palates , and it was soaked in oil , and my “steak” was something else but Not steak . If you are claiming to be are a Puertorican restaurant you should make sure the quality of your food is the best you can possibly offer , specially in downtown Sarasota . We will not be returning nor recommend to anyone.

The first time here and waited almost an hour for food which I ended up canceling because it was going to take longer than usual. We got seated, and immediately the young lady took our order like she didn’t want to be there. Then she immediately brought us our drink. I never got updated on the status of the food, and the waitress was nowhere to be found. We asked the host for an update on our food, and she went to look for the waitress. The waitress told us that the food would take a little longer, and we decided to cancel instead. She immediately charged us for our drinks and barely said much. I was impressed because I was expecting more from a place that calls itself Latin Quarter. I wish this place creates better communication standards between staff and the customers.
