Their pizza is the best that I’ve ever tasted. I live in Tarentum now but if I’m ever in Monongahela I just have to have their pizza. I wish that they had a restaurant near me! I don’t have a lot of relatives left in Monongahela anymore but this pizza is worth the drive!!!!!

I have been going to DETTORES since 1990. Worked there also. Lived behind the 1st store. Even under new owners, the food is still excellent. Only pizza place I eat even though I have to go 20 minutes to get there. It’s worth the trip.

I moved to Monongahela, PA with my wife this past June, as we were just married and we love Dettore’s! I grew up in Richeyville, PA so I had never tried this pizza until this past spring, and let me say it is the BEST pizza in the Mon Valley! I love supporting local businesses and I’ll always be happy to support Dettore’s. The people are always so friendly and happy to take your order and they always open up the pizza in front of you before you take your order home to make sure they got your order right. The owners really know how to run a business and be successful at it because successful is the definition of this pizza place!

I always rated Dettore’s hoagies as the best in the valley. Not anymore. Had the worst Italian hoagies imaginable in our last order. They were COMPLETELY soaked in dressing to the point that the buns had the consistency of a wad of wet paper towels and were falling apart. About a quarter cup of dressing was pooled in the foil. One star is as low as I can give. Too bad. Zero stars and a lost customer. Never, ever again

Their normal pizzas are still great quality, but they’ve cut out local favorites like their specialty options (i.e. pierogi pizza) from the menu. Still no delivery either. With all the other pizza shops in town, they’ve let go of the things that set them apart from the rest.
