I tried out this place today. I wasn’t disappointed as I saw a few reviews about the California burrito so that’s what I got. And it is good. Also got an order of rolled tacos. Also good (still think Sayulitas are a little better). I asked for the spiciest salsa and well, that i got. Salsa is spicy just the way I prefer it. Also ordered a cup of champurrado (its average). Overall the carne asada alone has a decent taste compared to other tacos shops around Escondido so for the first time being here i give it 4 stars because the menu is so large so I will come back to explore a few other items on the menu.

The food is delicious and so fresh! Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner! The salsas are also excellent but the staff is horrible and regularly messes up our order. Always double check your order upon leaving. They’re also very tight on the salsa, even if you order Chips & Salsa! They finally have a drive thru now so that’s a plus. But I can’t give 5 stars based on their attitudes and how many times they’ve messed up my order. The prices always change too but the food is so good, it’s worth it.

1st time eating here [I’m from WA]: the achiote taco [pollo] con lettuce is huge I forgot how the big tacos here in Cali are & with double tortillas. Not too bad! The tj style taco is okay. the salsas are spicyyy if you like that! I think everything could’ve used some Avocado on top or a chunky green salsa would’ve been nice. They have plenty on their menu to choose from everyone seems to like the burritos perhaps I should try next time. I also tried the rolled tacos they are SUPER crunchy & the cheese/guac is a must or else it wouldn’t be anything to special. But rolled tacos are a thing here. They are not too pricey so that’s always a plus.

I don’t recommend this place. They charge you extra for food that’s supposed to have the condiments. I got no sour cream or guacamole on a California burrito making it taste dry and that should tell you something.

First time here great food and service. I got the Tecate chicken quesadilla, my husband the carne asada fries with shrimp. Food was fresh, hot, great taste. The cashier was very attentive to our needs. Will definitely return.

By far the best taco shop homemade Mexican food in the city of Escondido. Outstanding fresh hot sauce and chef crafted menu. Including a walk up window for easy ordering and pick up. I love the people who work there, they make the food with love. Please re open!!!!!
