Went for lunch and heard great reviews from the Tallahassee Foodies group on Facebook. It was not a great experience. Unorthodox looking building but thinking maybe it was just a hole in the wall type vibe. Restaurant was hot but not unbearable. We ordered the family platter for $50 and got a lot of food. It had a slab of ribs, a Lb of pulled pork (they were out of chicken and brisket and macaroni salad), and two sides we chose were baked beans and fries. Food came out looking great as you can see in the pics but it wasn’t good bbq. The best thing was the hand cut fries. They were great. The ribs were under seasoned and the toughest ribs I’ve ever eaten. I mean really tough!! My daughters love ribs and could barely chew them they were so tough. The pulled pork had better seasoning than the ribs but way too much fat that also completely changed the texture of the pork to where it was almost slimy. The baked beans were ok but not great. They were out of sweet tea and had coke products for drinks. Went to wash my hands and the bathroom was awful. Don’t know when the last time it was cleaned or stocked as it had no paper towels and the toilets were disgusting. Overall, it was very disappointing as we had heard such good things about the place.

Pretty much some of the best. Barbecue I’ve ever had. Some pretty good fried catfish too order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Friendly. Good old boy atmosphere. Literally best brisket I’ve ever had fall apart Tender and great flavor. Not overpowered with seasoning or smoke. As good as it gets ribs also . Wonderful! Potato salad, main taste is fresh, fresh potato. If you want the brisket, get there early

The best BBQ I’ve ever had! So delicious and super quick. You can’t beat the $8 pulled pork sandwich combo. I also got a side of shrimp that was so delicious and so was the ranch. The pulled pork was so tender and the sauce was phenomenal. Fries were simple but some of the best I’ve had. The owners were also super kind. Will be back 🙂

Sooo glad this amazing BBQ came into town, can NOT beat the $8 pull pork combo with drink and side with fresh food, arrived early and loved it was let me see if grits were ready not give me a minute to microwave! From sides to desert, I have not had anything that I didn’t give 10 stars and the staff is the friendliest to match.

I had pulled pork, ribs, beans and slaw. Some of the best BBQ I’ve had. The meat was juicy, tender and rib meat fell off the bone. The meaty beans were tasty but the coleslaw was not my favorite, so I’ll try something different next time. Great family restaurant that everyone needs to try.

The food was simply amazing as well as the customer service, the place sits next to a lake, has a balcony in the back for live music, and views of the lake. We will be going back, it was our first time, definitely won’t be the last time.

Heard about this place from a friend an knew I had to try it. Let me say I was blown away. Perfect location with a great sit down restaurant setting. Was met by the owner an his wife, both were great people. Took a glance at the menu an couldn’t how reasonable the prices were. Ordered a sampler platter of ribs, chicken & brisket. Potato salad an baked beans for sides. Everything was nothing short of amazing. Smoky, moist an wonderful. Living in Tallahassee good BBQ is pretty much nonexistent. But no more will I suffer! My money will no longer be wasted at Sonny’s or Mission BBQ! Summer’s is my new go to!
