My family chose Big Nicks to cater a small reunion gathering at Payne Meadows and it was perfect. The food was very well packaged and ready for me to pick up. The food itself was excellent and everyone kept asking me where did I get the food from. One comment was the turkey IS NOT all dried out. I agreed with everyones assessment that it was excellent. I would recommend them to cater, any event you are thinking of having.

Big Nick’s BBQ set up on location at our credit union and fed our members for member appreciation day. We had a great turnout and amazing feedback about the food! “Best BBQ we have ever had” was the most common comment! Big Nick’s was so professional, showed up early, did all the work, and cleaned up. We will use them again in the near future! Thanks Tim and staff at Big Nicks for making our day a huge success!

Stopped here while out sight seeing in Murphy. The smoke on the pulled pork was full of flavor. The baked beans are INCREDIBLY GOOD! Topped our sandwich off with the western Carolina sauce, which was tangy and had a little kick. The staff are also super nice and the service was super fast. We ordered and seconds after we sat down they had our food out to us.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while! On a total whim I made a to go order for pulled pork tacos. They were ready at the drive through as soon as I pulled up. The service was fantastic, the prices fair, my order was correct and hot, those pork tacos were absolutely TO DIE FOR and the building appears super clean and well kept. The pork was melt in your mouth tender and the BBQ sauce was delicious too…. Try the mustard based one! I have absolutely zero complaints and I will most definitely be back! Thank you Big Nick’s!

What a gem! It’s either drive thru or there’s a few tables out front. This is officially my new favorite place to eat in Murphy! The brisket mixed in with the white cheddar Mac and cheese blew my mind! Everything was great! It was WAY better than I was expected. I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it while writing this review.

Overall excellent barbecue, the Mac and cheese and fries were incredible. The chicken tenders and ribs were both decent, but a little dry. Would definitely recommend you give this place a try if you are near the area.

Didn’t expect doordash delivery up here on a mountaintop & even more delighted to order from Big Nick’s BBQ! Very impressed with the quality ingredients, delectable flavors that – delightfully – neither weighed me down nor made me bloat + feel heavy. Portions were large and EXTREMELY reasonably priced! Have eaten here three times, great pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, great ribs. Pricing seems really fair. Staff was really pleasant and efficient. Fries were hot and freshly cooked. Highly recommend when you feel the need for BBQ.

Big Nick’s is a real treasure chest for good old-fashioned BBQ. The okra and fries were fresh and crispy hot. The meat (smoked turkey, pulled pork and brisket) was to die for. The manager brought out three different dipping sauces: sweet and spicy, vinegar-based and dijon mustard-based. They were all so good that it was hard to pick a favorite. For the quality and quantity of good food the prices were very reasonable. The dining area is quite rudimentary and al fresco. It is my observation that almost every really good barbecue pit focuses on the food and not the seating. You can also eat in your vehicle like Sonic or take-out. REALLY GREAT BBQ!

Been going here since they opened. The sweet tea and potato salad are our favorites. Come from Florida to see family and make it a point to stop by. Today we went by to order a gallon of potato salad and two half gallon teas. A gallon is 36 dollars , I simply asked for it to be put in pint containers instead of the tray. Manager John Burgess was quite rude and matter of fact stating I would be charged for four quarts because it is not in a tray and I would be getting more that way. I would have happily paid the 36 dollars for what is fair , just wanted them in containers and it’s never been problems before. He could have said if we do it that way it will be a pint short is that okay? Nope, just very rude and very dry as well. Not a happy person. I told him we had gotten it that way before and Mr. Tim I believe I even met you and we talked about a year or two ago because you’re familiar with Gainesville area we’re even thinking of coming down branching out. You’re a very nice guy it seems. Just don’t know why they would charge you 56 dollars for potato salad. That should be 36. I wasn’t trying to cheat anyone out of any money or food but they fit better in a cooler to take home to friends that way. Just very upsetting, I work in healthcare and would never talk to a patient or a patron like that. I said that “ I’ve met the owner who is nice and this has never been a problem before” to which he jumped right to “well I’m the manager and if you talk to the owner tell him John Burgess told you that”.
