What used to be a top notch spot in the little town has kind of turned into just an OK spot. It’s really overpriced for what you get, and sadly the food really isn’t that fantastic.

My husband ordered the chefs special prime rib & had to return it because it was cold. They retuned a second time it it was barely warmer. The plate was still only cool to the touch.

The perch place down the road closed down, so wanting a perch sandwich I decided to try this place out. Maybe the fact that I was the only person at the place was a sign of how good the food is, but I went ahead and ordered the perch sandwich and fries anyway. $15 for a sandwich and fries is a bit steep but I was from out of state visiting so thought it would be worth it. The breading was really dark and heavy and greasy. It wasn’t terrible, but would not get again. The fries were ok. Not sure if they get more business at night, but I’m surprised they are making it as a business.

Went there for the first time and this place is just okay. My parmesan crusted chicken was dry, my baked potato tasted like it was soaked in water for a while, green beans were pretty good and my husband’s perch had sweet coating with little taste to it, his wings were overdone and the cornbread fell apart. The food wasn’t that bad but also nothing to brag about prices are a little bit pricey. The outside of the building does not do justice for the inside. The cooks had to come out of the kitchen and run down steps to get food-poor guys. Ciara was an excellent waitress.

The Blind Perch is a wonderful addition to Vermilion restaurant and nightlife scene (we only get out to this relaxing lake-side town once every couple of years). A true “gastro-pub” with a great craft beer selection, full bar (interesting cocktail menu) and out-of-the-box dinner menu, it equally matches any gastropub we have on the east coast where excellent service and innovative, quality cuisine are the norm. The service was excellent; the decor, modern and comfortable. We were not disappointed and neither will you. The walleye main course was delicately prepared and presented and very tasty. The perch meal was the best in town. Dessert was delicious – I shouldn’t have eaten it all! Great for couples, adult families and not so good for kids. So glad to have The Blind Perch as another classy, but not stuffy, restaurant in Vermilion. Highly Recommended. We’ll be back.

Food was fantastic, we had the perch and walleye and sampled several drinks. You can read a history of the building on the menu. The owners Sue & Dean went above and beyond. Highly recommend Blind Perch!

Great little place ! Got the walleye entre as walleye chowder. My friend got the prime rib special which was huge and worth the money! Good beers and wine. You’ll get better food for a respectable price compared to going to an upscale chain restaurant towards Cleveland.

4.5 We all enjoyed our food. Our children enjoyed the delicious brussel sprouts, and loved the salmon. The citrus salad dressing was refreshing and tasty and my husband enjoyed his walleye sandwich. Our waitress was wonderful. We think the poutine would be better if topped with cheese curds rather than blue cheese. The atmosphere was tranquile and we willl definitely return.

First time at this restraunt. Had the Fish and chips. Fish was flaky and the crust was fluffy and crisp. Cooked just right but needed a bit of salt…easy fix. The fondue tray was an excellent choice. Many beers on tap. We will return. Limited hours were on the door. I would check online before going.
