Great discovery and a good alternative to sushi. I took the Nori beginner 4 pieces and my wife took the Nori Lover 5 pieces which was the same but with an extra shrimp tempura avo. If you’re hungry go for the 5 pieces but the 4 pieces was just enough for me.

All I can say is wow. I went for lunch and any of the handroll sets will fill you up. It’s delicious, fresh, even the eggplant is amazing(probably my favorite) and definitely gets the recommendation if you like Temaki. The only downside is they don’t sell liquor yet. I will definitely will be back.

Delicious and inventive sushi rolls for a great price: $22 for five filling hand rolls? What?! Had the tofu and ikura to start which was divine. Got the Nori Specialty which was a plate of spicy salmon, kanpachi with asparagus tempura, spicy tuna, unagi, and miso eggplant. They were all amazing and the fish was super fresh, but my favorites in that combo were the spicy salmon and the miso eggplant. Added on the uni toro rolls at the end for a decadent finish. Will definitely be back to try their other menu items.

This place is a fantastic choice for hand rolls and Japanese tapas. The dining room has a notably cool ambiance, but the ultimate seating experience lies at the bar. For newcomers, they offer excellent starter hand roll sets to ease into the flavors.

I sometimes look for places to eat depending on my current location. I was at a tattoo shop on Tropicana and Decatur accompanying my wife when I got super hungry and decided to do a Yelp! search of nearby restaurants. I had seen the sign of The Nori a while back, before they opened and was quite curious about this place. Once my wife was finished with her tattoo, we drove down to the Nori. It was busy-ish (Saturday lunchtime) but we were seated at the bar immediately. Perfect, because we had another appointment in less than an hour. I already knew what I wanted after perusing the photos on Yelp but my wife did not. She ended up getting the beginner nori set, while I got the Nori lovers set. Both sets came with miso soup. We shared the salmon poke with housemade chips. Everything I had here was pretty good. Nothing was amazing or mind blowing so I definitely see where all the reviews of people being underwhelmed are coming from. For the price point, I would expect the fish to be fresher. The portions are quite big, and we were both full after having each of our sets and the poke and chips. The service was great from start to finish.

Looooved this place, can’t wait to return! My first time eating handrolls and they were delicious. I got the beginner set, all were fantastic. The miso soup was great too. The staff was so friendly and explained how to eat them.

I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Nori lover an dmy friend had the sampler, have their cold brew matcha and the chips & poke. There really wasn’t anything that was not good. The blue crab or spicy tuna may have been my favorite. Worth checking out.
