We blur the lines. We don’t keep it ordinary. We’re local, we’re casual, but our food is refined. At Brown Square Bistro our goal is to bring new, elevated culinary offerings to Ipswich and the surrounding communities. Our dishes reflect a variety of global influences and bring ingredients and flavors together in ways that touch all the senses. We source locally and seasonally whenever possible. Everything in our kitchen is made from scratch. We prepare and execute with thoughtful intention.

Upscale. Portions are on the smaller side but from the lamb lollipops that can be cut using a fork, to the lobster bisque that was flavorful and well balance with just the right amount of lobster… It was delightful experience. Bartender, Margaret was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Definitely going back.

Super friendly staff, Drinks, and food were amazing. Short rib was cooked perfect, with so much flavor. Wedge salad was very good. Loved the mushroom toast and the gnocchi dish. So happy to have a restaurant of this quality and vibe in the neighborhood. This will be our new go-to spot.

Ridiculously good through and through. Chef Liam is an exceptionally talented and focused individual and this is highlighted beautifully in Brown square’s elegant and exceptionally well executed and technique driven menu. For real this place will knock boots with bostons best and blows Frank’s (rip) out of the water. The Steak Tartare with foie gras, mushroom and sunchoke was unbelievably lush yet well balanced with welcome pops of acidity from the dressed herbs chopped throughout. The duck breast was beautifully rendered while still a perfect tender medium rare sitting pristinely sliced atop a tender pile of wilted local kale and black rice. The Duck Jus was a deeply rich and toasty contrast to the various preparations of peaches that tied this dish together. Don’t even get me started on the Almond and Ricotta Cavatelli.. Christ almighty. If you’re reading this Do yourself a favor and eat here this week.

Wife and I have been to Brown Square Bistro several times since it opened and find the food to be simply amazing! The chef is incredibly consistent and creative with every dish and does not skimp on the details… everything is made on the premises to include the likes of home made bread, smoked butter, relishes, and pate’s. Delicious! Our latest trip was over the weekend… I had the Lobster Bisque for an appetizer – it was to die for! Highly recommended!

Fantastic flavors and beautiful creativity! Get the Truffula Tree while you can! Chile lime under the perfectly cooked Scottish salmon, zucchini and black rice is brilliant and bright. Carrot cake is complex, yet sublime. Go to Brown Square Bistro for culinary adventure in a modern setting.

I went with a friend to check it out. We shared the Angel Eggs (shown in photo), Grilled Baby Romaine and the Bolognese, all delicious and beautifully presented…my favorite that night was the Bolognese. The table next to us had the Lobster Bisque and I think I will try that next time. The severs were very attentive and personable, and my Brown Square rye cocktail was perfectly balanced!

Of all the towns they could have picked to open this wonderful new restaurant, we’re so thankful that the owners, Tom and Jeannie Di Silva decided to bring their creation to Ipswich! My husband and I enjoyed one of the most special dining experiences we’ve ever had anywhere on the north shore. Refined and yet casual, the Brown Square Bistro provides foodies with the kind of adventurous cuisine, exceptional service and polished yet comfortable atmosphere one only finds in some of the better Boston restaurants. All this and no nighttime drives into the city. It’s the kind of place this town has needed and it fills a niche all its own.

We had a very nice night at Brown Square Bistro. Our server Maggee was very attentive and friendly. I requested a unique drink and the bartender Jessee came to our table to make sure I got what I requested. The food presentation was very creative. The Salmon shared plate, Burger and side dish of mushrooms was delicious. The Salmon had a few flavors in the dish going on and the burger taste delicious and the juices in it made the burger had a melting sensation. The menu had a good variety of small plates to try. Great experience and prior to leaving booked a reservation for next Friday.
