Johnny Angels has a picturesque location very close to the water right off of Charlestown Beach Road. We went on a day that was overcast with impending showers …so it was slow – business-wise. The order still took quite a while to come out – about 15 minutes for clams & fish (one fryalator?). The portions were ok, not huge, but not small imo for the price. The quality was fine & filled our need for a Fish n Chips / Fried Belly Clam fix.

The food is just alright. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from a little beach shack, fried food, hot dogs and hamburgers. The views are incredible at sunset if you get a good night though. Get an order of onion rings

Beautiful location, fish and chips was one of the best I’ve had. Price a little high but it’s also the height of summer and the fish (cod) was deliciously fresh and very lightly battered. I would eat there again. Oh, and the young ladies were pleasant in manner.

The food was very good. I got the whole bellies and my wife got the fish and chips and both were excellent. The breading is nice and light and not too heavy. Plus the coleslaw was excellent. I would definitely go again.

Was not impressed with 1 employee. Gave us as customers an attitude. Actually was just plain rude. Then the portion sizes were not worth the cost along with everything ended up being over fried. I will say on a positive note there was another employee that was really awesome and kind. We will not go again.

Great, freshly made clam cakes. A guilty summer indulgence. Their clam chowder is one of the tastiest I’ve tried as well. It’s not as thick as some, but I prefer that 🙂 The location is convenient and the prices are reasonable as well.

Cash only!!!! Food was decent. Kind of an odd menu imo. There was potato salad on the menu but barely any in my chowda. They do have dels lemonade! There was a broken vending machine out front. There were no umbrellas on the deck where you sat for shade so you had to bake in the sun. Other than that its a pretty good place to stop for clamcakes and chowder and dels.

My go-to place for clam cakes and dell’s frozen lemonade, both RI specialties. I always take out but they have a patio with tables. Walkable from Charlestown beach and right next to kayak and paddle board rentals and charter boats.

The food was alright but the place was literal torture. It was so sunny and there was no shade or umbrellas on the rusty tables and seats, the chairs were so hot you couldn’t even sit. Also, they ran out of almost everything at midday. Can’t be called the Clam Shack with no clams!
