Went to Tavern 5 recently for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It being a nice day we were able to get seated in a nicely kept outdoor dining area. The tables are well spaced so you are not sitting right on top of another group. This makes for a very comfortable experience. The server was friendly and prompt and the wait for food was quite reasonable. I had the Cranberry Turkey sandwich special which was top notch in my opinion. The prices were in a decent range as well; for four of us the bill was about $75 and I had a drink. I would definitely go here again to try out the dinners.

Tavern 5 is a great local restaurant. The food is great, the service is exceptional and the overall ambiance and vibe can’t be beat. The place gets slammed, so I would try to make a reservation every time. It is a good spot for a date, it’s also family friendly or just go with a group of friends. The food is tasty, the drinks are tastier and overall I highly recommend this place.

Tavern 5 is a great local restaurant. The food is great, the service is exceptional, the prices are OK, a little on the high side, but overall a great option for a weekend or lunch during the week. They are family friendly, good spot to meet friends or just fun for a casual couples date. The place gets slammed, so always try to make a reservation, I highly recommend.

No idea how this is not the talk of Pompton Plains. I work in town & have popped in here 3 times now & one dish is better than the next. I hear other establishment names being tossed around in “go here’s” than this one. Never had a bad experience with food, drinks or staff. Love the ambiance here as well, outdoor & indoor. The Buffalo wings are favorite wings in north Jersey !

First off…immaculate! The entire restaurant is just beautiful and everything is so clean it looks they opened today. The menu is diverse enough for its size and the food was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient even on a busy day with a private party. Cocktail menu is thoughtful and the drinks were perfect. Looking forward to visiting again. Oh, and the homemade ice cream was delicious!

Not bad, but not great. There was two things I really liked so I’ll start there. Number one, the atmosphere were really nice and clean, big fan of clean places. Then number 2, the truffle fries were outta this world! I have had many truffle fries and if I just went here to have truffle fries it would be a 5 out of 5, tops 3 truffle fries I’ve had. That being said everything else was just okay. The nachos were out of a can (specifically jalapeños and tomatoes), which is only annoying because the description really made it seem like they’d be great (see menu picture); not to mention, a few chips were burned. My gripes: 50% of the waters we got tasted funny, if you look at my burger picture you’ll see that the fries are the definition of average – this is an issue because adding fries is an additional $4.95 (for that price they should have been amazing), and finally the service was just okay. The manager/owner was visibly frustrated when we asked the several to being us the truffle fries (a standard side of the NY Strip) that were mistakenly not brought out initially. Mash potatoes were brought out instead the first time, but we never ordered them so I’m not sure why he was mad… anyways, drink prices weren’t bad and neither were prices in general. Overall, I give the place a 2.95 out of 5.
