Food was ok,. The 3 stars was due to portion and price! I had a “pulled pork nachos” @ $15.00 ( price also includes 1 large fountain drink). There was minimal pulled pork but enough cheese choke a cow and @ $15.00 the pulled pork nachos did not even fill the take-out styrofoam!

There are very few times that I can’t eat food purchased but this was one of them. I ordered the brisket and pork combo. A plate of frozen fries and a small bowl of mixed, stringy meat sitting in watery liquid that was so salty that it was inedible. The meat tasted like it had been in a crockpot for days. And for that it was $21 pre tip. My first experience with Kansas BBQ will be my last.

I visited JW’s and ordered brisket, green beans and baked beans. The brisket was thinly sliced, tender, and had a great smokey taste. The sides were nice, and I really enjoyed the baked beans; they had wonderful flavor and something I could not quite put my finger on. I’ll be visiting again soon to try the ribs!

Stopped in on a whim on our way to St Joseph. What a great decision! The place is a hole in the wall joint that we almost drove by. I’m so glad we didn’t. The food was amazing! I had the pulled pork sandwich and baked beans. We also had the rib tips and OMG the flavor. You can smell the smoke coming from the building when you park. Everything about this place is unassuming except for the food. There is very limited interior seating so if you want to eat there just be mindful of that. The service was stellar and the place really had a family feel. They also make their own BBQ sauce and after eating I couldn’t help but walk away with some!

Delicious! Down home food. Great portions, and the sauce is served separate, which I always appreciate because I like the flavor of the stand alone meat. One star shy because we would have loved some indoor seating or outdoor atmosphere.
