Amazing tap list. Friendly service. And great tasting food. My portion was large, too. I had the brisket grilled cheese sandwich and would definitely come back here for it again. Not too salty and the caramelized onions were a perfect touch.

Best burger-bar place in La Grange! When friends are in town, this is always my first suggestion. Great beer and drink selection, and really fun boozy milkshakes! The burgers are fantastic, and if you’re not craving a burger there’s still a ton of choices on the menu, like their fish n chips! Alongside all that, it’s a great place to hangout. Great location in La Grange, and has lots of TVs to watch some sports together. Can’t wait to come back, cheers!

Cute atmosphere and open space, the bar is the centerpiece of this place! Immediately felt “at home”. House Bloody Mary was great- not too fancy and not overdone. Just perfect. The sirloin jerky was awesome and you get a lot for the price.

Went here for lunch on a cold Saturday afternoon. I CANNOT stress enough how incredibly DELICIOUS these burgers are. My husband got a brisket burger and I got the Monk burger with truffle fries. We eat a lot of food and I must say, these sandwiches have moved into my top ten! The bacon jam is phenomenal and adds such dimension to the burgers. If you decide to go here, go ahead and upgrade to the truffle fries… You will not regret it.

Went there for a couple of appetizers and a drink. We ordered the “marinaded beef jerky” and the “pretzel bites” both apps were over $12 average price point but this beef jerky was terrible. Unedible. We offered pieces to both the patrons sitting next to us and they both had the same conclusion, cardboard. So after getting a terrible first app we got the pretzel knots. We paid $12 to get 7-8 pretzels doused in oil to the point the cheese dip wouldn’t even stick. Told the bar tender about the problems with the jerky she proceeded to tell me I know about how jerky is made. Pretty rude and condescending. Overall not a pleasant experience. Food very mediocre and service was very unprofessional.

The staff was very welcoming. I love that this is a kid friendly establishment, making it easy for families to relax, but the food was just not very good. I’ll start with the burgers. I had a black bean burger which was drowning in a thick mayo based sauce. The burger itself tasted like nothing. I get it – maybe I should have ordered a regular burger. My husband did order a regular burger and it was cooked perfectly but was also perfectly unseasoned and just not good. We also got wings which were cooked through but the skin was fatty and gelatinous and they were just barely sauced. They were brought to us by a very nice woman, who was chewing some food as she served our food…. That was a new experience for me.

The food, the staff, the service is all amazing here. Not only is Monk’s a great restaurant, but the higher staff are also kind hearted. They provided a donation for my nonprofit after we had a few staff and client meals there.

Had a taste of a few different things here, and everything was amazing. Would recommend one of the burgers for sure. I had the brisket burger and it was probably one of the best ones I’ve had. I also tried a few drinks on the menu. I can’t remember the name of it but it was something with bourbon and bacon on top…AMAZING. Staff was friendly but it took a little bit to get a seat on a weekend night. Would highly recommend it.
