Food and service was wonderful! Atmosphere was a little weird, considering it’s sort of in the basement of a house, but overall it was a great experience. It felt like having dinner at your friend’s place, if your friend was a chef and had a professional kitchen in their basement.

Fantastic!!!! Chef Daniel knocks it out of the park with spectacular tastings of local food and flavors. The waitress, who I regrettably forget her name is and absolute whipper snapper and makes the experience just that much more fun. My friend and I ate with my parents and couldn’t have had more fun.

Small and cozy spot off the main path. Small but eclectic menu and six tables in a basement setting. Entrance is around the back of the house at ground level. Food and service were both outstanding. Worth a try!

Chef Daniel and his team created an unbelievable experience for my sister’s bachelorette party! The food was incredible and service even better. Chef Daniel grew up in Asia and knows exactly how to infuse those flavors into his food. Could not recommend this spot more for those looking for a unique and delicious experience!

This review is long overdue. My Mom and I dined here about 2 years ago while visiting Rhinebeck. Not only was the food divine, this was the most uniquely wonderful dining experience of our lives. In addition to being a phenomenal chef, Chef Daniel is truly a great human being. Seeing that the weather wasn’t the best and getting a car service was quite difficult , he graciously gave us a lift back to our hotel. Who does that? Chef Daniel, that’s who. We will forever remember you my friend. God bless and be well!

Everything I have tried at the Tasting Room has been fantastic and watching Chef Daniel create your meal is a real treat. One of the most unusual features of the place is their Ramen Night. Chef Daniel grew up in Japan and makes what is easily the best bowl of ramen in the Hudson Valley and it’s the best I have had anywhere. The little buns with pork belly are amazing too. The presentation of every dish is like a perfect still life, a work of art. Don’t be too surprised if the person at the next table sneaks a quick photo of their meal.

I went here for my birthday to have ramen. Excellent food, locally sourced ingredients and everything is made from scratch! The service is great and it’s an experience to see the chef prepare your meal. Save room for dessert!

We like to experiment and were looking for a quaint place with great food; and we got just that – for anyone who is tired of the usual restaurant tropes, the place is highly recommended. You know you’re getting into something different the moment you look at the website – how many places serve whatever the chef feels like, with an ever changing menu, sometimes with ingredients the chef himself picked? Down a gravel driveway, the parking already tells you you’re in for something different: with scant formal parking, we parked on grass by a tree. And the restaurant itself doesn’t disappoint – with only 6 randomly placed tables and out-of-place design. But the attentive staff brings you into the world of the chef, whose true passion for food – above financial gain – comes across in every which way. The truffles were good and gentle, the crab cakes were a bit of a miss (the only thing we got that was just “okay”), and the risotto, for a change, was not drowning in tons of broth and allowed the dish’s actual – and excellent – flavors to shine through, refreshing compared to other places. The shining stars were the deserts, which once again, were not overly sweetened or buttered, allowing their eater to appreciate their actual textures and taste; now there’s a concept. If you’re looking for a formal dining experience, this is not it – you can see there’s something eccentric happening from the chef’s writing, grammatical mistakes and all. And given the ever-changing menu, the food’s makers cannot benefit from years of refining one specific recipe. But this willingness to experiment and be different is precisely what turned us on to this spot, and for anyone looking to celebrate gastronomy and passion for food and life in and of themselves, this place is not to be missed.
